Chinese Law Club (CLC) is a student led club at the University of Auckland committed to diversifying UoA’s law school.

We provide support and mentorship for Chinese law students as well as law students who take an interest in Chinese culture.

After an incredible semester, it’s time to celebrate! 🎉 Join us for our Mentoring Programme Closing Night as we wrap up this year’s mentoring programme with an evening of fun, laughter, and memories.

Reconnect with your mentor or mentee one last time as you put your teamwork to the test in our Back-to-Back Challenge, compete in a series of exciting mini games, and see who will be crowned our 2026 Mentoring Programme Champions 🏆👀

We’ll also be look back on the semester, celebrate our amazing mentors and mentees, present our mentoring awards, and finish the night with food, photos, and plenty of time to socialise. We can’t wait to celebrate with you all! 🫶🏻

✨ Introducing the SG Social Justice Moot ✨

Hosted by the Chinese Law Club (CLC) and Korean Law Students Association (KLSA), the SG Social Justice Moot explores Asian social and cultural issues in law. We are proud to once again partner with Simpson Grierson and thank the Simpson Grierson Asian Cultures Group for sponsoring this competition in our shared commitment to strengthening cultural competency in legal advocacy.

Entry is open to all students.

This is a closed-authority moot, meaning all relevant materials will be provided. No additional legal research outside of the supplied materials is required.

❗ Important Dates ❗

📌 Sign-ups Open: 13 July, 6:00 pm
📌 Sign-ups Close: 15 July
📖 Problem Question Released: 16 July
🧑‍🏫 Moot Workshop (Tutorial): 21 July
📂 Written Submissions Due: 24 July
📜 Preliminary Rounds: 27 July
⚖️ Semi-Finals: 3 August
🏆 Finals: 6 August

📋 Registration 📋

The first 8 pairs to register will secure a place in the competition on a first-come, first-served basis. Any remaining registrations will be entered into a ballot to determine the remaining teams.

Priority will be given to registered CLC and KLSA members.

Participants may register either as a team or individually. Individuals who register individually will be randomly paired with another individual entrant after registrations close, and pairings will be confirmed shortly afterwards.

Withdrawals
Participants may withdraw within 24 hours of the problem question being released. Unfortunately, withdrawals after this period cannot be accepted.
