Today we are celebrating Mother's Day at Bright Beginnings Early Learning Centre Howick. One of the highlights of the day was the delicious treats prepared by our dedicated teachers. We pampered our moms before they left for work after dropping their little ones.
Our children created handmade gifts and art works and shared their love for their mommy.
At Bright Beginnings, we are grateful for all the moms and special people who entrust us with their precious little ones, and we look forward to many more special moments together in the future. Happy Mother's Day!

At Bright Beginnings Early Learning Centre, we took time to pause and remember the significance of ANZAC Day.

Through meaningful conversations, storytelling, and creative experiences, our tamariki were introduced to the importance of remembering the men and women who served and sacrificed for New Zealand and Australia. In age-appropriate ways, we explored themes of courage, kindness, community, and remembrance, helping our children begin to understand why ANZAC Day remains such an important part of our history.

Our learning experiences encouraged reflection, curiosity, and respect. Through art and shared discussions, our tamariki expressed their understanding in their own unique ways, while our teachers gently guided conversations around gratitude and remembering those who came before us.

At Bright Beginnings, we value creating opportunities for children to connect with the world around them and the community they are part of. Recognising important occasions such as ANZAC Day helps foster a sense of belonging, empathy, and appreciation for the stories that shape our nation.

Recently, we had the pleasure of welcoming our wonderful whānau into Bright Beginnings for our Parent–Teacher Evening 💛

It was a special opportunity to connect, share learning journeys, and celebrate the growth and achievements of our tamariki. Strengthening these partnerships helps us continue to support each child in reaching their full potential 🌱

We were also incredibly grateful to have Alan McIntyre the Principal from Owairoa Primary School, and Kirsty Rice, the Associate Principal, join us, sharing valuable insights with our parents and teachers about the transition to school. Their knowledge and experience made the evening even more meaningful.

🎨 Learning Through Colour at Bright Beginnings Howick 🌈

As part of our Transition to School programme, our tamariki have been exploring the world of primary colours and experimenting to discover how they can create secondary colours.

Through hands-on mixing, curiosity, and creativity, the children are learning that when colours combine, something new and exciting can happen! These experiences help develop early science thinking, problem-solving, and confidence as they test their ideas and observe the results.

It’s wonderful to see their excitement as red, yellow, and blue transform into brand new colours right before their eyes. Learning truly comes alive through play and discovery.

Our tamariki have been enjoying some beautiful autumn-inspired activities at Bright Beginnings Early Learning Centre🍂

From exploring seasonal colors to hands-on sensory play, the children are discovering the magic of the changing season while learning through play.

🌟 Bright Beginnings Field Trip to MOTAT! 🚋

Our tamariki had an exciting adventure on their recent field trip to MOTAT – the Museum of Transport and Technology! From exploring fascinating vehicles to discovering how technology has changed over time, the children were full of curiosity and wonder.

They enjoyed hands-on learning experiences, exploring interactive exhibits, and even seeing real trams, planes, and historic transport up close. MOTAT offers a rich learning environment where children can explore science, technology, and history in fun and meaningful ways.

This special outing supported our learning through exploration, encouraging questions, creativity, and real-world connections. Our tamariki showed wonderful listening skills, teamwork, and excitement throughout the day.

A big thank you to our teachers and whānau who helped make this memorable experience possible. We love providing opportunities for our children to learn beyond the classroom and create lasting memories together.

We are excited to announce that Bright Beginnings Early Learning Centre will be supplying the ice blocks for the children at Howick Tiny Tots Athletics! 🍦🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

It’s a privilege to support such a wonderful community event here in Howick, where tamariki can stay active, build confidence, and have fun together. We love being part of opportunities that bring families and the community together.
