Natural Wonders Early Learning Centre We are a privately owner operated preschool. We are a small Centre, licensed for 30 children, aged from 3months to 5years.

Welcome to Natural Wonders Early Learning Centre. We are a privately owner operated preschool situated in the up and coming Wellsford community. We are a small Centre, licensed for 25 children, aged from 3mths to 5yrs. We are open Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. At Natural Wonders we provide an environment that is a home away from home. Children experience educational opportunities and thought-provo

king activities in an atmosphere of nurturing and understanding. The tuakana-teina concept, where children learn from one another, is strongly reflected within our Centre. To encompass this we promote a mixed learning environment where all children develop alongside each other. Our teaching team is made up of Qualified and Registered teachers, all of whom have been working in the Early Childhood sector for over 10 years. We understand that choosing the right preschool for your child is an important process and a big decision. We encourage you to visit our Centre and ask questions so that you’ll feel comfortable leaving your little ones with us.

Today was a day all about exploring magnets. We learnt how they could repel each other as well as attract. What things stuck together and what things wouldn’t. We even learnt that they could work through the base of the tray and table.

Exploration, as seen in these photos is just one of the strands in Te Whāriki, our Early Childhood Curriculum. This strand emphasises that “Children learn through play: by doing, asking questions, interacting with others, devising theories about how things work and them trying them out and by making purposeful use of resources. As they engage in exploration, they begin to develop attitudes and expectations that will continue to influence their learning throughout life”.

It has been a busy couple of months here at preschool. During this time we have seen lots of imagination, creativity, physical challenges and as always lots of working together and exploring and defining their own theories. Our tuakana-teina philosophy can be seen every day as all ages of children play and work together.
