Requesting all Zombie Apocalypse survivors who wish to gain extra knowledge and survival skills against the onslaught of the nonverbal undead to come along to join us.

Do you have a speech you need to do coming up? Do you want to be able to stand up with the confidence to be able to deliver that speech in a strong voice without having to ummm and ahhhh all the way through it?
At Toastmasters we can help! You learn through doing, watching and learning how to give a strong clear speech.
Whether it be standing up at a wedding, having to give a speech in front of your work mates, maybe a sports group, we can give you the skills to do it and look like a champion while doing so!

𝗧𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀’ 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗔𝘀𝗵𝗯𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯

Ashburton Toastmasters played host to approximately 40 toastmasters’ members from six clubs in the wider Canterbury area recently when the area contest was held in Ashburton.

Public speaking enthusiasts from Hornby, Oaklands, Ashburton, Lincoln Research, and Alpine toasters clubs assembled at the RSA’s Doris Linton lounge to compete against each other in four different category events of speech-making. They included Table topics (impromptu speeches), humorous speeches, evaluation speeches, and international speeches.

Area Director, Harry Fox, described the calibre of speeches presented as very high. First place winners in each category will go forward to contests at divisional level.

Ashburton’s Robin McClimont secured third place in the Evaluation contest. Congratulations Robin!

The next regular Ashburton Toastmasters meeting will be held in the Doris Linton Lounge on Wednesday 25 February commencing at 7:30 PM sharp.
