Allenton School

This evening we are delighted to announce that Allenton School will receive two additional classrooms, as part of a wider roll out of 59 new classrooms for schools across Canterbury and the South Island. This is in response to roll growth at Allenton. We look forward to working with the Ministry of Education to get this project underway.

This past week we have been celebrating Samoan Language Week - Vaiaso o le Gagana Samoa. All classes have been involved in creating some amazing art work, as well as learning about Samoan language and culture. Today it was wonderful to see our Samoan children wearing their cultural clothing with pride. We look forward to sharing more photos and the students' art work with you soon!

Middle & Senior Disco: 7.00pm – 8.00pm

Includes entry plus a goody bag on arrival containing lollies, chocolate, potato chips, and glow sticks.

This past Tuesday we had a group of students representing Allenton at the County Cross Country, held at the Showgrounds. They all represented our school brilliantly. We had five qualifying for the Canterbury Primary Schools’ event, which will be held at the Nga Puna Wai Sports Hub in Christchurch on 27 June.
Top 6 placings were achieved by:
Skylah - 3rd, Yr 5 girls
Brooke - 5th, Yr 5 girls
Mila - 2nd, Yr 6 girls
Charlotte- 6th, Yr 6 girls
Luke - 2nd, Yr 6 boys

Congratulations to everyone involved!

We were recently donated a dozen rugby balls from Mitre 10. Allenton was one of the first three local schools nominated. These students are super excited to show them off! Thank you Mitre 10 New Zealand and to our local Ashburton store!

Good morning everyone,
A reminder that school is closed today for staff development. We look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Monday. Have a great weekend!

We currently have groups of senior students running their own clubs at lunchtime. One such example is the Art Club, led by Jack and Logan. They have a good number of students from across the school who are involved. Congratulations to these two boys for the enthusiasm and leadership they are showing and to all those who attend Art Club. Stay tuned for more information about other student-led clubs at Allenton.
