Get Ready to Jump: Jumping June is Coming!
We are thrilled to announce that The Terrace School will be taking part in Jumping June! After a fantastic term of skipping in PE, our students have become absolute pros, and we’re ready to celebrate with a massive whole-school event.
When: Wednesday, 3 June (Week 7)
Time: Middle block
Where: On the school field
What to bring: Wear suitable footwear and your drink bottles
Skipping for a Cause
We are proud to support the Heart Foundation NZ. Heart disease is New Zealand's single biggest killer, and the Foundation works tirelessly to fund life-saving research and support the 175,000+ Kiwis currently living with heart conditions.
How it Works:
Free Ropes: Every student will receive their own skipping rope to keep just for participating!
Fundraising: This is entirely optional. If you choose to, you can join our school’s digital fundraising page here: https://www.jumpingjune.org.nz/event/the-terrace-school
Entry Code: theterrace (Please click skip when it asks you for your class)
Prizes: There are great incentives for students who reach fundraising milestones, but the real goal is getting active and having fun together!
Flyers will be coming home in school bags shortly with our unique school code. Let's get our hearts pumping and show off those skipping skills!
Home
Throughout June, our students are getting active, building their skipping skills, and raising funds to support heart health across Aotearoa.

Great Friday afternoon entertainment for Year 1-8 students without the "big kids" on the ice. Go along and support a local club with their fundraising and have some fun at the same time!

Y8 campers saw blue penguins today out on our cruise. The sounds were like glass! We then enjoyed a meander to Helena Falls and got up close to the waterfall. After lunch it was back out fishing with everyone catching a fish over the last few days… and today we even had some larger jaws take a nibble! Deep Cove Fried Chicken and roasties for tea and we celebrated Harrison’s birthday in this special place. We’ve been checking out some old school visitor books and came across some gems from TTS. We’ve been so lucky with the weather! Looking forward to home tomorrow! Tired kids coming your way whanau!

All the Y8s are tucked up in their beds. They’ve had a great day after being woken up by 4 cheeky kea, conquered Huntleigh Falls walk, spotted a few sharks and more than 90 fish caught and smashed 4 trays of toasties. Perfect weather. Magic views. Oh and did some diving in the sounds without getting wet!

We are all safe and sound, and nearly all tucked up in bed after a great first day en route to Deep Cove. Here’s a few pics of our day …

As I mentioned on the radio last week, our "two winter terms" are officially here! We are currently enjoying those classic crisp, cool mornings that often transform into beautiful sunny days. To keep our students comfortable throughout these temperature shifts, layering is the way to go.

A shout out to Kobe and Harper, two of our House Captains, showing great leadership today representing The Terrace School at the Alexandra ANZAC service.
We will remember them.
