Happy international children’s day.
Here at FUN PLACE ROSEDALE, children are always the center of what we do everyday.
“International Children’s Day is celebrated annually on June 1 in different parts of the world as an initiative for children’s well-being and rights. This day is celebrated as part of a greater cause that revolves around ending child abuse, ending the deprivation of children of their rights, and making efforts to improve the lives of children all around the world. Not to be confused with Universal Children’s Day, which is celebrated in November,
Children’s Day or International Children’s Day is a commemorative day in honor of children worldwide. Celebrated as part of the 1925 Proclamation in Geneva at the World Conference on Child Welfare, the day is observed on different dates in different parts of the world. Some countries celebrate it in June, some in November, but the aim of the day has always been the same” (National day 2026, https://nationaltoday.com/international-childrens-day/ )

Local curriculum.
Our tamariki in the older Pohutukawa room are interested to know how the mail system works. As we have been vastly communicating digitally, the traditional post is decreasing significantly. We have asked whanau if there were anyone they would like to send the post to, and our tamariki are taking the full experience of posting. Wondering where these letters are going.
We are all about bringing communities together.

Our center has been here for over 25yrs. The signage has been changed for few times, families come and go, some has been coming for many years with all their children…
We are not a historical building, but certainly a center with lots of stories to tell, memories to share, and mostly importantly, early years experiences to create along side every parent and whanau.
Come and see FUN PLACE Rosedale, this is the place to be. 🏡

Children can only concentrate on their exploration when they know they are safe, their voice are heard, their needs are being met, and most importantly, it is FUN to them.
Here at Fun Place Rosedale, our dedicated Kaiako are always here to support tamariki ma to have fun, engaged, and consistently developing their social competencies and emotional regulation.
Learning is a life long journey, we are delighted to be part of your early learning.
Come and see us, to experience the true curriculum of “learning through play”

The highlight for this week would be us celebrating a cultural day in the center. Our children explored a variety of dishes from different culture, appreciated cultural outfit from a diverse country of origin / ethnic groups. This is what makes our center so special, as we are a community united from a very diverse culture back ground. It is so lovely to learn from each other. Thank you parents for your support in this event.
How many different nationalities can you pin point from the photos?

We are so delighted to have Asha (from St John education team) and Rebecca (from Auckland council civil defence education team) to visit us this week talking about getting prepared, and how to get help if we are injured. Just in time before the cyclone, ain’t that the perfect timing!
Our tamariki ma are prepared for the windy, wet weekend. Are you?

Construction, exploration, investigation and expression. Through children’s day to day experiences, they develop skills of communication, socialization, reasoning and understanding the world around them.
