Learning beyond the classroom! Our Kiwi Valley Farm excursion was filled with exploration, teamwork, communication, and wonder as tamariki connected with the natural world and created lasting memories.
Kids Cove Albany
An amazing early learning centre, where we believe that every child is a unique gift of life.
Kids Cove Albany is growing and evolving, and we would love to hear from you!
As we embark on this exciting new chapter, your voice matters. Help us shape the future of our centre by sharing your thoughts, ideas, and feedback.
Together, we can continue creating the best possible environment for our tamariki, whānau, and community.
Have your say. We are listening!
As children stack blocks, connect objects, and create structures, they develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, creativity, and problem-solving abilities. This links to Te Whāriki through the strands of Exploration and Wellbeing, where children learn through active play, develop confidence in using their bodies, and build skills for thinking, discovering, and making sense of their world.
School readiness made fun, engaging and easy!

THE BIG Y!
With our letter Y week, our tamariki explored through the room for yellow items, all to be collected into one big letter Y. Things of different sizes, shapes, textures, and also shades of yellow. What fun was it this day and at Kids Cove, our tamariki enjoys each day with loads of learning.

It’s J for JELLY BEANS!
A yummy looking mathematical concept learned. Children learned working upon the JELLY BEAN GRAPHING. They had to hold each jelly bean using the tweezers and place them in each square of the sheet, corresponding to their colours. They kept placing them one above the other until they found those colours. Once done, they analysed their graph by answering the questions the teacher asked them individually like:
Which is the tallest jelly bean tower you made?
Which is the shortest one?
How many beans are there in the …… tower?
Which one is shorter/ taller than the ….. one?
Children were highly excited to work with the colourful jelly beans and answering the questions.

Today our tamariki learned about the letter F for Fire. The tamariki carefully cut red, yellow, and orange paper to make the flames of the fire. They also used grey paper to make the wood. Everyone worked hard to cut safely and paste the pieces together to create their own fire picture.
To all amazing Kids Cove mums, Happy Mother’s Day! Your kindness, patience, and unwavering love are your child’s guiding light!
