North Harbour Selections 🙌

A huge congratulations to our outstanding students who have earned selection to represent North Harbour across volleyball, hockey, and athletics! These achievements reflect their dedication, commitment, and passion for their respective sports.

🏐 Lucas Jay & Stanely Wu has been selected for the Harbour U17 Volleyball Team and will be competing at a tournament in Wellington.

🏑 A special congratulations to our hockey representatives:

Aayoung Joung has been selected for the North Harbour Premier 2 Women’s Team

Andrew Graham and George Hardy have both been selected for the North Harbour Premier U18 Men’s Team

All three will be competing in a tournament in Tauranga this July. We are incredibly proud of their achievement and wish them the very best for an exciting campaign.

🏃‍♀️ Elizabeth de Winnaar has been selected for the North Harbour Athletics Team and competed at the North Island Secondary Schools Athletics Championships.

We are incredibly proud of all our athletes for representing our school at such a high level. Your hard work, perseverance, and sportsmanship continue to make us proud—best of luck in your upcoming competitions! 💙

🏊‍♀️ Auckland Intermediate Interzone Championships

A huge congratulations to our swimmers on their outstanding performances, bringing home some fantastic top 3 finishes!

These athletes qualified for Interzones by placing in the top 3 at the North Harbour Zone Day held a couple of weeks ago — meaning they were competing against the very best swimmers from across the region 👏

Junior Girls Shine at Auckland Secondary Schools Aquathon

Congratulations to our Junior Girls team, Amelia C (Year 9) and Elizabeth D-W (Year 9) who put in a fantastic performance at the Auckland Secondary Schools Aquathon held at St Kentigern on Tuesday!

Competing against strong fields from schools across Auckland, Amelia and Elizabeth tackled the challenging course — 400m open water swim followed by a 2km run. Their hard work paid off as they claimed 3rd place overall, bringing home a well-deserved podium finish for Pinehurst.

This achievement is a testament not only to their individual talent but also to their teamwork and commitment to training. Well done, Amelia and Elizabeth — you’ve made us all proud!

🌟 Xavier Shines at the Australian Youth National Climbing Championships! 🧗‍♂️🇳🇿

A huge congratulations to Xavier W-W (Year 9), who proudly represented New Zealand last week at the Australian Youth Climbing National Championships! Competing in the Under-15 Lead Climbing category, Xavier gave it everything and finished 5th overall—just missing the podium on countback against a strong international field. 🌍💪

Xavier continues to prove he’s one of New Zealand’s top young climbers, constantly pushing the limits and challenging for top spots both at home and abroad. His commitment, strength, and technical skill are truly inspiring. 👏🔥

Well done, Xavier! We’re so proud and can’t wait to see where your climbing journey takes you next! 🧗‍♂️🏆

Diving New Zealand Junior Team – European Tour ⚫⚪

A massive congratulations to Noah A (Year 10) and Zara R (Year 10), who have recently returned from representing New Zealand on the Diving NZ Junior Team European Tour! 🇳🇿🌟

These talented young athletes delivered outstanding performances at three major international competitions and showed incredible determination, sportsmanship, and pride in wearing the silver fern.

🛫 Stop 1: Dresden Youth Diving Championships – Germany
• Noah – 10th in the 1m Final & 9th in the 3m B Final
• Zara – 14th in the 1m Prelims & 21st in the 3m Prelims

🇬🇧 Stop 2: British Junior Elite Championships – Plymouth
• Noah – 5th in the 1m Final & 4th in the 14–18 Boys 3m Synchro
• Zara – 8th in the 1m Final, 6th in the Platform Final,
5th in the 14–18 Girls Platform Synchro, 10th in the 3m Prelims

🇳🇴 Stop 3: Bergen International – Norway
• 🥇 Team Event – 1st Place for NZ (with Noah!)
• 🥇 Girls 14–18 Platform Synchro – 1st Place for Zara and her partner
• Zara – 10th in 13–15 Girls Platform, 7th in 14–15 Girls 1m
• Noah – 🥈2nd in 14–18 Boys 3m Synchro & 🥈2nd in 14–15 Boys 1m,

What an incredible tour! 🌟 These results are a testament to their hard work and passion for the sport. We are so proud of Noah and Zara – true ambassadors for Diving NZ and for New Zealand sport! 🇳🇿

🏌️‍♀️ Golf Team 1 – Runners-Up in Auckland Premier Final! 🏌️‍♂️

A huge congratulations to our incredible Golf Premier Team for an outstanding season, finishing 2nd overall in the highly competitive Auckland & North Harbour Premier Golf Competition! 👏

In a tightly contested Premier Final, our team showed immense determination and skill, narrowly missing out on the title against Auckland Grammar in a thrilling match.

Special shout-out to our talented team members — Sarah L, Edward N, Yicheng W, Sophie Y, Grace K, & Felisha Z — for their dedication, sportsmanship, and consistent excellence throughout the year.

We also want to express our heartfelt thanks to Julie Koopen, our amazing team manager, whose support and behind-the-scenes work made a huge impact on the team’s success.

🚵‍♂️ Strong Results at the North Island Secondary School Mountain Biking Champs! 🚵‍♀️

Over the school holidays, three of our talented students tackled the tough Tauranga terrain at the North Island Secondary School Mountain Biking Championships — and came away with fantastic results!

👏 Torben W (Year 11) placed 4th in the highly competitive U17 Enduro and 11th in the U17 Downhill — an awesome display of skill and endurance!

🥉 Helena W-W (Year 7) smashed it with a 3rd place podium finish in the U13 Female Cross Country — a huge achievement!

💪 Xavier W-W (Year 9) rode strong in the U15 Male Cross Country, whilst battling a chest infection.

A massive congratulations to all three riders for their grit, determination, and sportsmanship. You’ve done us proud! 🙌💙

🏑 North Harbour Hockey Representative Selection 🏑

We would like to congratulate both George Hardy and Aayoung Joung on their outstanding selections into the North Harbour U18 representative teams. George has been named in the U18 Premier Men's Team, and Aayoung has been selected in the U18 Premier 2 Women's Maroon Team as part of the upcoming representative programme!

Being selected for a North Harbour representative team is a huge accomplishment, and we are thrilled to see both George and Aayoung achieve this outstanding milestone.

George will be heading to Timaru during the July holidays to compete in the U18 Men's regional tournament, while Aayoung will be showcasing her skills at the U18 Women's regional tournament right here in North Harbour at the same time.

We are also looking forward to watching them in action for our Pinehurst 1st XI Girls & Boys teams this season, which kicks off this week. Best of luck to both George and Aayoung — we are all behind you! 🎉👏
