North Harbour Selections πŸ™Œ

A huge congratulations to our outstanding students who have earned selection to represent North Harbour across volleyball, hockey, and athletics! These achievements reflect their dedication, commitment, and passion for their respective sports.

🏐 Lucas Jay & Stanely Wu has been selected for the Harbour U17 Volleyball Team and will be competing at a tournament in Wellington.

πŸ‘ A special congratulations to our hockey representatives:

Aayoung Joung has been selected for the North Harbour Premier 2 Women’s Team

Andrew Graham and George Hardy have both been selected for the North Harbour Premier U18 Men’s Team

All three will be competing in a tournament in Tauranga this July. We are incredibly proud of their achievement and wish them the very best for an exciting campaign.

Junior Girls Shine at Auckland Secondary Schools Aquathon

Congratulations to our Junior Girls team, Amelia C (Year 9) and Elizabeth D-W (Year 9) who put in a fantastic performance at the Auckland Secondary Schools Aquathon held at St Kentigern on Tuesday!

Competing against strong fields from schools across Auckland, Amelia and Elizabeth tackled the challenging course β€” 400m open water swim followed by a 2km run. Their hard work paid off as they claimed 3rd place overall, bringing home a well-deserved podium finish for Pinehurst.

This achievement is a testament not only to their individual talent but also to their teamwork and commitment to training. Well done, Amelia and Elizabeth β€” you’ve made us all proud!

A huge congratulations to Xavier W-W (Year 9), who proudly represented New Zealand last week at the Australian Youth Climbing National Championships! Competing in the Under-15 Lead Climbing category, Xavier gave it everything and finished 5th overallβ€”just missing the podium on countback against a strong international field. 🌍πŸ’ͺ

A huge congratulations to our incredible Golf Premier Team for an outstanding season, finishing 2nd overall in the highly competitive Auckland & North Harbour Premier Golf Competition! πŸ‘

In a tightly contested Premier Final, our team showed immense determination and skill, narrowly missing out on the title against Auckland Grammar in a thrilling match.

Over the school holidays, three of our talented students tackled the tough Tauranga terrain at the North Island Secondary School Mountain Biking Championships β€” and came away with fantastic results!

πŸ‘ Torben W (Year 11) placed 4th in the highly competitive U17 Enduro and 11th in the U17 Downhill β€” an awesome display of skill and endurance!

πŸ₯‰ Helena W-W (Year 7) smashed it with a 3rd place podium finish in the U13 Female Cross Country β€” a huge achievement!

πŸ’ͺ Xavier W-W (Year 9) rode strong in the U15 Male Cross Country, whilst battling a chest infection.

πŸ‘ North Harbour Hockey Representative Selection πŸ‘

We would like to congratulate both George Hardy and Aayoung Joung on their outstanding selections into the North Harbour U18 representative teams. George has been named in the U18 Premier Men's Team, and Aayoung has been selected in the U18 Premier 2 Women's Maroon Team as part of the upcoming representative programme!

Being selected for a North Harbour representative team is a huge accomplishment, and we are thrilled to see both George and Aayoung achieve this outstanding milestone.

George will be heading to Timaru during the July holidays to compete in the U18 Men's regional tournament, while Aayoung will be showcasing her skills at the U18 Women's regional tournament right here in North Harbour at the same time.

We are also looking forward to watching them in action for our Pinehurst 1st XI Girls & Boys teams this season, which kicks off this week. Best of luck to both George and Aayoung β€” we are all behind you! πŸŽ‰πŸ‘

This year, Pinehurst was honoured to be part of the Blues Student Leadership Programme, which has taken place during four Thursdays throughout Term 1. We selected 10 outstanding students who have demonstrated leadership through sport and contributed to our school community as student coaches and referees.

Last week, Sky Sport and Seven Sharp showcased this fantastic programme β€” and our students were right in the spotlight! πŸ“ΊπŸ‘
