ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a skilled, energetic, friendly person to manage our Centre neighbouring Ahipara School, nestled at the bottom of the Ninety Mile Beach/Te Oneroa a Tohe. Bring your strong leadership and operational management skills to lead the day-to-day running of the Centre in 2023. Key responsibilities include providing leadership to a staff of 20+, managing day to day centre operations including staffing, enrolments, developing strong relationships with tamariki, whanau and the close knit community, supporting the experienced teaching team in programme planning, ensuring an excellent standard of education and care are met.

We are licenced for 60 children with 10 babies and have 3 separate areas to meet and extend our tamariki’s learning and development at various stages. We also have an after school/holiday care facility on a nearby site under this management role. An experienced financial administrator will work alongside you.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

- Early childhood teaching qualification is an advantage but not necessary
- Experience managing teams of people is preferred
- Managing financial budgets including the ability to apply for appropriate funding is important to meet ongoing constraints in income and increasing expenses
- Knowledge and understanding of current early childhood education theory and practice
- Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills
- Enthusiasm and a strong desire to make a difference to children in their early years

We provide outstanding care and education to children aged 3 mths to 5 years and have large and engaging play spaces for our children. We have three age and stage appropriate teaching spaces, in our light and airy building all connected to outdoor areas. We are looking for a Qualified Head Teacher genuinely dedicated to support children’s learning and development in our multi-cultural centre. This position will be based in the 3 ½ year olds to 5 years.
We are excited to hear from a candidate who has great communication skills, energy and enthusiasm, the ability to a create a warm and welcoming environment for our children. The candidate we seek will have developed great leadership qualities, is competent with planning, curriculum including regular and emergent reviews with a natural positive team player attitude!

Fixed term year position to cover parental leave, with possibility of continued work. Start date 30thSeptember
Being part of a team working with a roll of 3 month to 3 year old children.
