||Office Assistant as Teacher|| 👩‍💻
Dhan Bahadur Gurung who is office assistant at Janakalyan Secondary School does terrace farming (at his house) and is expert in it. He was approached (before one week) to lead one activity which was to make mixed ||Organic Fertilizer||, one of topic of Chemicals Used in Daily Life unit. 🧍⏭️🚻🚮

The main objectives are:
👉To provide skill to students to make organic fertilizer and use it instead of chemical fertilizer
👉To make students realize about economic importance of organic fertilizer regarding no cost and startup
While making the manure, he guided students to mix the raw materials (brought by them from home) like leftover food, animal dung, peels of vegetables and fruits, hay, dry leaves, green plants and so on. 🍚🥮🍝🥝🍠🧅🌿🍂🌿
He delegated works to the students to separate soil from the rocks, mix the organic wastes, cut the dried leaves and plants, water the manure, cover the manure and so on and students performed accordingly.

The major learnings and takeaways (from Dhan dai) of students are:
💯Minute details to make compost manure
💯To mix the organic wastes
💯Soil is also needed to make manure
💯Knew organic manure is made after keeping mixed organic wastes and soil (in layerwise) 💯Knew bone meal can also be used as organic fertilizer
💯Water should be kept after layering of organic wastes and soil
💯If steam come out of manure, we shall learn that manure is not properly ready to use
💯Manure should be covered from direct sunlight and water (so at the end it was covered with sacks)
💯Manure will be ready to use after 2-3 months
💯Manure should be checked every week
💯It will be very easy to write the answer about how to make organic fertilizer (in exam) as we did it practically

I am very grateful to Dhan dai for his resourcefulness and helping me and students to make organic fertilizer. I am grateful to grade 9 students and huge shout-out for showing sense of agency and making this thing happen. I am thankful to Basudev Bhattarai sir for understanding and providing extra time (from his period) to complete the manure making activity. 🙏👏🥰🍀⚛️

The students of grade 8 experimentally verified the change in 'Colour of Indicators' in acidic, basic and salt solution and experienced the theoretical information in real observation and gained knowledge practically.
They even learned to make 'Ordinary Indicators' from rose flowers and checked the working principle of it in acidic, basic and salt solution.
During two days of experiments, they were familiar with the name and uses of materials and chemicals used for the given experiment. 🥼🧪
But not limited to that struggling students were curiously involved and gained the knowledge practically. Today, I asked one of struggling students about the experiments and she answered that she enjoyed a lot and she was the one involving more during the experiments. I was very much happy to hear that. 🥰😇
One Moment: One male student unknowingly broke the test tubes while shifting to respective place and he was very nervous and sad that as if I would scold him for his action. At the end of experiment, I called him and asked what did he learn from it. He was numb and I replied that he should handle with care, better next time and taught him how to handle the test tubes. After that, he was happy (seen in face) and left the science lab with relievness. 🧪🧪

'Relay Race of Mixture' was conducted to reinforce the learning (of grade 6 students) on types of mixture i.e homogeneous and heterogeneous mixture and solution, suspension and colloid. 🍶🥃☕🧉🍵⚗️🧪
They were asked to bring different kind of mixtures from their home. They brought mixtures like salt solution, sugar solution, soda water, oily water, sandy water, chaff in rice grains, muddy water, flour in water, flour in milk, milk, jelly, gum, ghee in water and so on. They were given about 2/3 days to learn about the examples of the mixtures.
Today, the 'Relay Race of Mixture' was conducted as per the cluster. There was neck to neck competition among 5 clusters. The winner (Glowing Star) of race just won by one point.
The main objective of this relay is not just to reinforce the learning of students but also to address different learners (audio, visual and kinesthetic) inside and outside the classroom. 🧩📇🦻👀👣🦾
A huge shout-out to every students who actively participated in whole process to conduct 'Relay Race of Mixture'. 🙏🤗😇

'Cleaning and Managing Science Lab: Episode 5' was organized successfully by JANAKALYAN STEAM CLUB of Skill Lab Project (sustainable project launched mutually by Baal Club, Eco Club and Junior Red Cross Circle) of Janakalyan Secondary School. The main objective of this episode was to clean and manage science lab so STEAM activities can be run smoothly, in coming days. This is also an initiation to spark the curiosity and spark feeling of ownership among students.

It was such a privilege to have the enthusiastic and hardworking students to clean and manage the lab. Without them, it would not have been possible. We would like to express gratitude and shout-out for their enthusiasm, leadership and having fun, at same time.

We are very thankful to Administration of Janakalyan Secondary School and parents of respective members for providing consent to organize this episode, even on holiday.

'Info Session of STEAM Club: Episode 2' of Skill Lab Project was organized on 16th Mangshir (Friday) at Janakalyan Secondary School. The main objectives of this session was to introduce STEAM Club, it's importance in students life, how we can conduct STEAM activities at school, Women in STEAM and so on. The members of STEAM Club and leaders of Skill Lab Project actively participated in the session.
Ms. Nabina Giri was invited as first guest speaker for the session. She is Teach For Nepal Fellow who is currently placed at Shree Saraswoti Namuna Secondary School (Khairinetar, Tanahun) as Science Fellow. We are very grateful to her time, effort and hardwork for this info session.
Students shower their gratitude by providing handmade token of love to our guest speaker.
We are very thankful to our administration of school for providing the consent to conduct the session and grateful to understanding guardians as well.

||THE BASIC FOUNDATION OF CHEMISTRY IS TO KNOW THE CONCEPT OF ATOMIC STRUCTURE|| 🧑‍🔬🧪🌡️⚗️🧫📝🔘
Why! 🤔🧐
🧪Atomic structure has the concept of subatomic particles and it's role, postulate's of Neil's Bohr Atomic Model, basic understanding of elements from Modern Periodic Table and their valency, molecular formulae, concept of chemical bonding and formation of simple to complex compound and list goes on. 📝 ✅

Therefore, the concept of ATOMIC STRUCTURE was taught through model making, demonstration, group discussion and explanation, as far as students can unleash their learning. This will take time but they will learn, for sure. As we really want them to know the beauty of chemistry inside our body, foods that we eat everyday, simple to complex compounds and so on, by their own (by just using basic concept of atomic structure). 👩‍💻👫👭🧑‍🤝‍🧑🧑‍🎤🧍🩻🥗🍜⚗️🧫🧬🧠

P.S. Students used the local resources like maize, abandoned erasers, wires and bottle caps, cart boards, tika, thread, cheese balls and so on, to make the atomic model. We would like to give them huge shout-out as they made the model in one saying and short period of time. We are very grateful to students of grade 9A, for active participation, listening and learning. 🙏🥰

||Soil Profile|| 🏜️⛰️

The soil profile (one of topic of Unit Earth and Space) was taught to students of grade 6 through drawing. They were asked to make the soil profile as project work.
At first, it was intensely described, revised and the group discussion was done to comprehend the learning of every students. Some questions were also asked (as Check for Understanding) after the discussion then writing was done (description of soil profile).

।।Life Cycle of Mushroom।।🍄🍄🍄
।।Demo Of Mushroom Farming।। 🧑‍🔬🧑‍🌾🍄
They are students of GRADE 9 A. They are presenting the demo of mushroom farming by using the materials, really used to cultivate mushroom. The real sample of mature mushroom and mycelium were also brought and presented.
They are explaining how the mushroom can be cultivated with stepwise procedure (some prior parts are not posted as students deny for video making) .
Respective science teacher was stunned by their short, concise and simple method of their explanation, even in short period of preparation (one day only).
Objectives of the Presentation:
🍄Strengthen content mastery of mushroom cultivation topic
🍄Real exposure to mushroom farming
🍄Enhance their presentation skill and confidence level

Respective science teacher was impressed and happy for their short and sweet presentation. The appreciation of impressive presentations was done by fellow teacher and students, to the presenters, support person and back supporters. 👏🫰🗣️🫂👏

The presentations were depicted by Grade 10 students aka cluster members of TXT (Tomorrow X Together), Squad Up, We Are All One and Study Buddies through rap song, model, drawing and animated slides respectively, on 12th Ashadh, 2079 B.S. 👩‍💻👩‍🏫
The main objectives of the presentations were:
1) Comprehend the learning of previous chapter 📖
2) Enhance presentation skills👩‍🏫
3) Challenge themselves through different ways of presentation skills 🎵🌐📝👩‍💻
4) Incorporate 4 language skills (reading, listening ,writing and speaking) 📖🦻📝🗣️
5) Enhance critical thinking 🧠

Procedure:
The presentations were done one-by-one as per cluster (5 minutes to each) and other clusters were delegated to have correction, constructive feedback and raise questions on previous presentation so this additional support can help meet the objectives, to some extent.

P.S. Poem presentation was also assigned but not able to do due to health issue of Rush Cluster members.
