Study in Canada ๐จ๐ฆ ๐จ๐ฆ ๐
International students applying to study in Canada must now show they have more money available to support themselves.
As of September 1, 2026, a single study permit applicant outside Quebec must demonstrate access to at least $23,448 to cover living expenses during the first year of study.
The figure represents an increase of $553 from the previous requirement of $22,895.
For programs lasting more than one year, applicants must also explain how they plan to finance the full duration of their studies.

Applicants using bank accounts to demonstrate their financial capacity can provide statements covering the previous six months, including the month in which they apply or the month immediately before.
Importantly, IRCC also says the application should include documentation showing the source of income appearing in those statements.
Sources could include employment income or transfers from savings.
