What Does Level 3 Affect?

1. Visa Assessment (Main Impact)

For Level 3 applicants, the Department of Home Affairs checks:

Academic history (marks, gaps, consistency)

Course relevance to previous study

Financial capacity and source of funds

Genuine Student (GS) intention

2. Financial Requirements (Very Important)

Level 3 applicants usually must show:

Stronger financial background

Clear source of funds (salary, business income, savings, loans)

Stable income history (not sudden deposits)

Ability to pay tuition + living costs + travel

3. Genuine Student (GS) Requirement

This is critical for Level 3.

Your GS statement must clearly explain:

Why Australia (not just “better education”)

Why this course

How it links to your past education or work

Your future plan after study

Why this makes sense for Nepal context

Generic or copied GS = refusal.

4. Academic Gaps

Gaps are allowed, but must be explained.

Accepted gap explanations include:

Work experience (relevant preferred)

Business

Further training

Family responsibilities

Unexplained or illogical gaps are risky.

5. Course & University Choice

For Level 3:

Course downgrade is risky (e.g., Bachelor → Diploma without reason)

Repeating the same level without justification is risky

Low-ranked colleges increase scrutiny

Course must show career progression

6. English Language

Strong IELTS/PTE improves credibility

Bare minimum scores = higher scrutiny
