How are women really doing in STEM across Gandaki Province? Our new study takes a hard look.
Using data from 20 institutions (675 faculty members, 8,348 enrolment records over five years) and faculty interviews, we found that more women are enrolling than ever, but participation remains uneven, strong in nursing and agriculture, and far behind in engineering and forestry. And enrolling is only half the battle: women still face financial hurdles, gender stereotypes, workplace bias, and the juggle of work and home.
Access alone isn't enough. We need real support that helps women stay and thrive in STEM, not just get in.
