**🇨🇦New Updates from IRCC🇨🇦**

Canada will be introducing a temporary reduction in the number of new study permits, affecting the future of countless international students. Here are the key changes being made:

👉 Canada is introducing a temporary two-year cap on international student admissions. In 2024, Canada will reduce the number of international student permits by 35%, cutting the number of approved study permits to 364,000.

👉 As of September 1st, 2024, students attending public-private partnership institutions will no longer be eligible for postgraduate work permits.

👉 Work permits will only be available to spouses of international students enrolled in masters and doctoral programs

👉 As of January 22, 2024, every study permit application submitted to IRCC will also require an attestation letter from a province or territory. Provinces and territories are expected to establish a process for issuing attestation letters to students by no later than March 31, 2024.

👉🏻Students already in Canada or who have applied for visa as of 1st Dec, 2023 are allowed to work more than 20 hours per week until 30th April, 2024 (unlimited hours)
👉🏻Students studying online for less than or equal to 50% of their course still qualify for PGWP who begin their studies before 1st Sept 2024
👉🏻Foreign Nationals with a PGWP expiring on or before December 31st 2023 remain eligible to apply for an additional 18 months of PGWP

New update: Audit Report no longer needed now to apply for an Australian visa.

The Australian government has increased the minimum hourly wage rate to $23.23 with effect from first July, 2023.

With the increasing demand of skilled manpower in Canadian labour market, Canadian government is putting forward a new strategic policy of issuing permanent residency to professional immigrants. To meet the current labour scarcity, the government can select professional migrant applicants on following 5 different sectors as per this new system called ‘Targeted Draw’.
