Today, Kathmandu University School of Management (KUSOM) and Kageshwori Manohara Municipality signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration in research, surveys, and training initiatives. On behalf of KUSOM, the MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Bijay KC, Dean of KUSOM, while on behalf of Kageshwori Manohara Municipality, it was signed by Mr. Upendra Karki, Mayor, and Mr. Purushotam Subedi, Chief Executive Officer. The signing was witnessed by Mrs. Sabita Poudel, Mrs. Sangita Ghimire, Mr. Abhishek Bhattarai, and Dr. Lal Bahadur Pun.

We were honored to host Mr. Medani Pokhrel, Deputy Director at Nepal Rastra Bank, as the session facilitator for the KUSOM Policy Discussion Series on the theme "External Sector and Macroeconomic Interlinkages."

Our Master of Public Policy and Management students gained valuable insights into the dynamics of Nepal’s external sector, its macroeconomic implications, and the critical role of sound policy in navigating global economic challenges. A highly enriching and thought-provoking session.

Department of Public Policy and Policy Lab in collaboration with Socialartist event, BERDEM and Saksham Foundation successfully organised " Nepal Congress for Persons with Disabilities " on 15-17 April, 2025 at KUSoM.

The three days event observed important panel discussions on issues of: Social Policies for Disabled Persons, Access to Health and Education, Disability friendly Infrastructure and overall inclusive issues.

With a concluding workshop, participants discussed their life experience, challenges, identified key barriers towards their empowerment and rights.

A joint research programme on Public Places and Public Life in Lalitpur was conducted, involving students from the Master of Public Policy and Management (MPPM), Master of Business Administration (MBA), and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) programs, along with students and professors from the University of Birmingham/Dubai Campus. The research employed mixed methods and is also cross-cultural in nature. During this endeavor, we had the privilege of meeting the mayor, chief executive officer, and other officers of Lalitpur Metropolitan City and took a memorable group photo in front of KUSOM's main building

The Department of Public Policy at KUSOM and KUSOM Policy Lab hosted a lecture on "The Significance of Climate Diplomacy in the Context of South Asia," delivered by Col. MBB Nalin Herath, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence, Sri Lanka.

During the lecture, the need for regional collaboration in climate-resilient agriculture, infrastructure development, and technology transfer were emphasized.

The Department of Public Policy and KUSOM Policy Lab in collaboration with KUSOM SWC organized panel discussion on two major issues related to economic policies of Nepal.
Panel one on ‘Driving Economic Growth through Innovation and Entrepreneurship’, delved on key constraints and ad hoc approach towards innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem and associated opportunity loss. We are thankfull to speakers: Dr. Paras Kharel, Ms. Bhawan Rana and former Member of Parliament Dr. Dilli Raj Khanal for their valued insights.
With Dr. Suman Dahal, Mr. Hari Nepal, and Ms. Arya Joshi, panelists of second session on- Money Laundering, Grey-Listing, and their Impact on the Economy, simplified legal, institutional process of grey listing and money laundering related landscape impacting our economy. We are thankful to all the distinguished speakers and participants for these very engaging sessions on such a pertinent issues.
