"Is Packaged Oil Real or Chemical? | Understanding the Truth About Cooking Oils"
In this video, we dive into the packaged soybean oil and explore whether it’s truly "real" or overly processed with chemicals. Soybean oil is a popular cooking oil derived from soybeans, but how is it made?
Soybean oil is extracted from soybeans through a complex process, and the yield is relatively low compared to the weight of the soybeans used. Typically, from 1 kg of soybeans, you can extract around 180-200 grams of oil, depending on the method of extraction.
So, if you’re buying 2 kg of soybeans, you would only get a small fraction of a liter of oil, not a full liter. Additionally, the process of extracting and refining the oil adds cost, so the price of packaged soybean oil in stores includes not just the raw material (soybeans), but also the cost of extraction, refining, packaging, and transportation.
In summary, due to the yield limitations and production costs, it's unlikely to find a liter of soybean oil for the price of just 2 kg of raw soybeans.
