Today, on March 14th, we celebrate Pi Day, an internationally recognized occasion among physicists and mathematicians!
Why Pi? It's straightforward: pi (π), a mathematical constant representing the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter, is approximately equal to 3.14159265358979323846 ........... and extends infinitely without repetition. It is not only significanct in geometry and mathematics but also fascinates us by its infinite and irrational nature. By comparing the first three digits with March 14th, we get 3/14, making it the perfect date to celebrate in the wonder of pi.
Likewise, today, we also celebrate the birth of a renowned physicist Albert Einstein, whose surname has become synonymous with 'Genius' His groundbreaking contributions to physics, including the theory of relativity and the equation E=mc², continue to inspire generations of scientists and thinkers worldwide.
On this day, we also remember the passing of Stephen Hawking, one of the greatest scientific mind since Einstein and Newton, whose remarkable life defied the odds predicted by doctors. Diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease and given a just 2 years to live, he went on to make profoud contributions to theoretical physics, in the field of black holes, cosmology and quantum gravity. It's his 6th death anniversary but his legacy continues to inspire and shape the world of science.
