SMART MINDS: Motto: Rethinking Education, Refining Teaching! Smart Minds is a Teachers Training Academy located at Lagankhel, where the training programs mainly for school teachers, students and parents are designed and delivered appropriately. The team consists of members who have been in teaching profession, with international exposure and training. It has imparted training in Kathmandu valley a

nd outside with an aim to fulfill the national mandate of sustainable development, mainly by integrating the elements of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in different subject areas. Its main objective is to take education from mere transmissive to transformative. In order to address the 21st century pedagogy, it is high time that we rethink education and refine our teaching. Smart Minds is here to address this huge gap in our teaching system. The training program varies from one day to several days and months, depending on the time, needs and situations. It has programs for Head Teachers, School body (Team building and Strategic Planning), Teachers, Students and Parents. Students program include soft-skills and study-skills, leadership and public speaking. Lately, it has collaborated with EduGems Oy, a teachers training institution in Finland (https://edugems.podia.com/dashboard) which offers Online Teachers Training. Interested teachers may register directly through the link: for MODULE ONE: https://forms.gle/utahXgz5v3mQuruW9, AND for MODULE TWO: https://forms.gle/vb8MCzCJUS1Cvw2Q6. They are 10/20 hours self-paced program respectively, with reading materials, videos, reflection task and assignments. Certificate of Completion will be awarded after submitting Summative Assessment. Just for an idea, we organise the following programs, but largely work on customised manner:
1. 1 day motivational workshop.
2. 1 to several days of workshop/training.
3. 150 hours of training for prep/primary teachers (in-service/pre-service)
4. 5 days of workshop cm mentoring program (prep to class 5) during working days.
5. 2 days of Strategic Planning and Team building for individual schools.
6. Weekend programs on various themes.
7. 2 days of ESD workshop.
8. One year program for teachers capacity building and mentoring.
9. Self-paced online program (20 hours) any level who want to learn basic teaching skills.
11. Self-paced online training from EduGems, Finland.

📘 Assessment that understands the child — not just scores the child.

Every early-grade teacher knows the real question isn’t “कति नम्बर आयो?” — it’s “Did this child actually learn, and how do I help the ones who didn’t?”

That’s exactly what the Continuous Assessment System (CAS) is built for: daily observation, portfolios, project work, and timely feedback — assessment for learning, aligned with Nepal’s National Curriculum for Classes 1- 5

पढाउनु एउटा कला हो, and a short orientation with a register full of marks isn’t enough to do CAS well.

This workshop closes that gap. 🍃

This orientation served as a foundational convening to align our member institutions on the structure, expectations, and operational excellence required for the effective implementation of the School Mentoring Program (SMP).
