After years of struggling with drinking water issues, the 128 households of Dorje Ghyang Village in Ward No. 4, Temal Rural Municipality, now have access to clean, filtered water through a modern pump-lifted water supply system with taps in every home. The Dorje Gyang Water Supply Project, made possible by the generous support of BIKAS, Belgium, and active participation from the local community, serves 635 people and four institutions, including a school and a monastery.
This initiative is a game-changer for the village, where the majority of residents depend on agriculture, livestock, and labor for their livelihoods. With access to clean water, we are hopeful for improved living conditions and opportunities.
My heartfelt gratitude goes to Betti Didi Chairman of Bikash Belgium and Entire Team Members, Bakhat Bhai, the Dorje Gyang Lamakhola Water Supply Construction Committee, technical experts Ghuna Lama, and all the dedicated villagers whose tireless efforts made this project a reality. Special thanks to SOFIE LENAERTS (Belgium Legendary Mountaineer) for your generous Suport this project making a lasting impact on our community!
