Presently the trend of Nepali Painting is slowly but surely, going towards its traditional roots...that's the established motifs to mythical creatures...!

During late 60s of last centuries, as in Painting, a new phase of Visual Design was taking shape.This Cover page of NAFA, presents one of the early examples.

These two works represent visible changes in the annals of Visual Design...leading to a new stage. This is during late 60s to early 70s of last century.

Tej Bahadur Chitrakar (1898-1971), one of the earliest artists, is best known for introducing academic forms in Western style painting in Nepal: and thus laying the very foundation for the modern art, today.

Here's the depiction of mythical lions. Such creatures have had remained an integral part of Nepali Art, since ages. Moreover, in 3d forms, it's omnipresent in every religious shrines in Nepal.
Here the artist is found extremely inspired from these medieval forms and accordingly has tried to express in own imagination.

A true definition of a family...and blood relations....!!!

We're in a continual journey....digging the lost tit bits of history....and trying to present an accurate picture of "pre-modern era in Nepali Painting.
The picture presented here represent one example of our modest efforts....!!!

Many more new info are being prepared....to illustrate and narrate the transformation of traditional thoughts and forms to new modem age.....
