There is hardly any progress regarding ever increasing burden of antimicrobial resistance problem. Pharmacy companies seem to loose interest about research and bringing out antibiotics in the market becouse their vested interest
Under these circumstances our attention should be more towards preventive measures to check infectious diseases. There should be more emphasis towards vaccination. Research may be diverted to preparation of newer vaccines.There is also need of finding UNIVERSAL VACCINE covering all infections.

Increasing number of cases of COVID 19 are emerging once again. This time causing virus is Omicron XBB. It is five times more toxic than previous strain. It is not easy to detect. It is not found in oropharyngeal site. There is no fever. Usual signs and symptoms are joint pain and severe respiratory disturbances. It is highly contagious. Wearing proper mask keeping distance from patients and hands washing must be observed strictly..

Bacterial based immunotherapy in cancer is coming in forefront. Initially bacteria named streptococci were used. Now bacterialike Escherchia coli that is genetically engineered against cancer
It destroys cancer cells.
Emerging research suggests bacteria based therapy could be promising to certain tumors especially those with poor blood supply or those resistant to conventional a anticancer drugs.
Of late programmed bacteria with sophisticated factors like production of anticancer antibodies within tumors cells is found quite effective.
Segment of certain cell wall infection was found effective in melanoma.
