The ICMS also offers a new MCP in Counselling Psychology, which focuses on emotional, social, vocational, educational, developmental, and organizational concerns in a crisis setting. The ICMS also offers trainings, simulation exercises and field visits, not only as part of the curriculum but as practical exercises for a range of different governmental and non-governmental organizations and initiatives.

At Samarpan Academy, the 9th Batch of the Master’s in Counseling Psychology (MCP) has begun its second semester with engaging and interactive learning experiences. The first class of School and Community-Based Intervention course, led by our distinguished faculty member Mr. Bishnu Chandra, focused on activities designed to help students examine their own assumptions as counselors working in school and community settings.

Campus Chief Dr. Asmita Khadka also joined the session, interacting with students and participating in the activities.

A thoughtful beginning to the semester, reminding us that becoming a counselor is not only about learning concepts, but also about understanding ourselves and the people we work with.

Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue on Su***de Prevention:

ICMS, Samarpan Academy, hosted an engaging and insightful Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue on Su***de Prevention on 10 August 2026, bringing together diverse perspectives on the growing challenge of su***de in Nepal.

Dr. Kishor Adhikari, Registrar of Manmohan Technical University and former Campus Chief of Samarpan Academy, served as the key resource person and presented a thought-provoking working paper on su***de prevention. He also helped clarify several common myths and misconceptions surrounding su***de, highlighting the importance of understanding the issue beyond commonly held assumptions.

The presentation was followed by an interactive discussion involving government and security sector representatives, health professionals, rehabilitation practitioners, faculty members, and students, allowing participants to share perspectives and experiences from different sectors.

A key takeaway from the dialogue was that awareness is fundamental to su***de prevention, but it must be supported by knowledge, evidence-based policymaking, and meaningful collaboration among multiple stakeholders. Addressing su***de as a complex social and public health issue requires collective and coordinated efforts.

It was a productive and enlightening exchange, providing an important platform for strengthening understanding and advancing dialogue on su***de prevention in Nepal.
