Turmeric Promotion Program at Takiyapur LRFG, Gadhawa‑5, Dang

A turmeric promotion initiative was launched on 31st May as part of the Climate Smart Agricultural program ! Improved turmeric rhizomes were planted on 0.85 ha of marginal land along the Rapti River land that had remained fallow in previous seasons.

Plantation was carried out using both ridge‑and‑furrow and traditional methods for demonstration.
52 farmers (37 women and 15 men) actively participated in the training and plantation.

This program has encouraged the productive use of marginal land and opened the door for commercial turmeric cultivation in the area. UN-Habitat Nepal Good Neighbors International Nepal
