Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa, Assistant Professor of Pharmacy at Gandaki University, has been selected for the prestigious Young Leaders Program of the Science and Technology in Society (STS) Forum 2026, taking place in Kyoto, Japan from October 3–6, 2026. Chosen among outstanding young leaders from around the world, he will engage with Nobel Laureates and global science and technology experts, highlighting Nepal’s growing presence in international research and innovation. 🇳🇵👏

Proud Moment: Dr. Ashwin Dhakal has been selected as the PhD Marshal at the University of Missouri, USA, in recognition of his outstanding research impact and leadership. He has published 15+ research papers with over 600 Google Scholar citations, received multiple prestigious awards, authored two books, and was nominated to deliver convocation remarks at the graduation ceremony. 😍

Proud Moment: Nepali researcher Pratistha Paneru Bhatta has been selected as an in-person delegate for the World Bank Youth Summit 2026 in Washington, D.C., through a highly competitive selection process. She will attend the summit on June 11–12 alongside delegates from around the world. A former Assistant Director at Nepal Rastra Bank, she is currently pursuing a PhD in International Business at Southern New Hampshire University, with research focused on international capital allocation and multinational firms. 😮❤️

आर्थिक वर्षको बजेटअनुसार सरकारले फेलोशिप कार्यक्रममार्फत विश्वभर रहेका १५ जनासम्म ख्यातिप्राप्त नेपाली कृत्रिम बुद्धिमत्ता (Artificial Intelligence) क्षेत्रका अनुसन्धानकर्ताहरूलाई नेपाल ल्याइने घोषणा गरेको छ।

यस पहलले एआई क्षेत्रमा अनुसन्धान, नवप्रवर्द्धन र ज्ञान आदान–प्रदानलाई प्रवर्द्धन गर्ने लक्ष्य राखेको छ भने विदेशमा रहेका नेपाली विज्ञहरू र नेपालभित्रका संस्थाहरूबीच सहकार्यलाई समेत मजबुत बनाउने अपेक्षा गरिएको छ।

Bikrant Chaudhary, a 15-year-old Nepali cybersecurity researcher, has earned global recognition after reporting a security vulnerability to NASA under its Vulnerability Disclosure Policy (VDP). His submission, related to a dangling Twitter link and potential XSS issue, was carefully evaluated by NASA security professionals, who coordinated with systems engineers and administrators to address the risk.

Following NASA’s 90-day responsible disclosure policy, the vulnerability was successfully mitigated, and NASA awarded Bikrant an official Letter of Appreciation acknowledging his skills and efforts. The letter, signed by Tamiko Fletcher, Acting Senior Agency Information Security Officer, highlighted Bikrant’s contribution to advancing NASA’s mission by protecting critical information systems and promoting cybersecurity awareness.

NASA praised Bikrant’s actions for adhering to ethical reporting guidelines, noting that his efforts reflect the importance of responsible security research in the global tech community. This recognition has now gone viral on social media, inspiring young cybersecurity enthusiasts in Nepal and around the world to pursue ethical hacking and responsible vulnerability reporting.

Big Achievement: Laxman Poudel from Rupandehi has been awarded with 2026 American Heart Association Postdoctoral Fellowship (worth NPR 2.26 crore for two years). It is a highly competitive award that supports early career researchers in cardiovascular, cerebrovascular & brain health. 🙏❤️
