MS Graduate Assistantship – Regenerative Soil Health & Agroecosystem Sustainability
The Regenerative Soil Health Laboratory in the is inviting applications for a fully funded M.S. Graduate Research Assistantship under the supervision of .
🌱 Research Focus Areas
Students will participate in interdisciplinary research related to:
• Soil health assessment and indicators
• Soil–plant–microbe interactions
• Biochar and organic amendments
• Cover cropping practices
• Agroforestry farming systems
• Soil micronutrients, food quality, and human health
Field research will be conducted in collaboration with farmers, extension specialists, and partner institutions across the southeastern United States.

🎓 Preferred Qualifications
• B.S. in Soil Science, Environmental Science, Agronomy, Ecology, Agriculture, or related fields

Master of Science (MS) Graduate Research Assistantship-Precision Agriculture
The Remote Sensing and Spatial Analysis Laboratory, Department of Agricultural Sciences and Engineering, Tennessee State University (TSU) is seeking a highly motivated MS student to join the research team beginning August 2026. The research project will focus on evaluating the effects of cover crops rotation on selected corn performance characteristics using drone data. The project is part of a multi-year-funded project from USDA-NIFA. The student will work closely with the Project Director (Dr. C. Akumu at TSU).
A competitive funding package will be offered to the successful candidate as an assistantship to the Master’s program in Plant Sciences with concentration in Precision Agriculture. The student will have the opportunity to publish sections of thesis developed from the research project.
