Statement of Purpose for studying Master of Commerce (Applied Finance)at Curtin University, Australia, Perth.
About myself:
My name is…, from Nepal. I am an enthusiastic, determined and optimistic person with positive nature having an extreme curiosity in management areas. I mostly involve myself in travelling and surfing the internet while I am free. Well, I believe that each mistake teaches something new and it’s an opportunity. I am willing and glad to pursue a master's degree from the Curtin University to accomplish a globally recognized education and to prepare myself to meet the challenging standard of the market.
I am a married woman, and we have been tied in conjugal life with mutual understanding, affection, and respect since 17th December 2017 with Mr. …. according to our social customs. I truly feel honored to have a destiny with such a caring and truthful person who has always support me in each good and bad situation. He is an amazing and very loyal guy. In fact, I am habituated to his company. I want to share every phase of my life with my husband. I unconditionally feel that his presence completes me and makes me the most joyful when we are together. Hence, we need our connection in any event, during my study in Australia.
I have received my Overseas Student Conformation-of-Enrolment (COE) for both course English Language Bridging [ELB] (C3766C51) course with CRICOS Code: [003896G] and for Master of Commerce (Applied Finance)(C3767C93) with CRICOS Code: [078409G]at Curtin University, Australia, Perth.
My educational background:
Regarding my education, I have completed my bachelor’s degree in Business Studies (BBS) in 2019 with 68.45% from, Himalayan College Kathmandu, Nepal. After the achievement of bachelor’s degree, keeping my ambition in my mind for my further studies, I prepared myself for IELTS exam on 28th September 2019 and score an overall of 6.0 (listening-6.5, reading-6.0, wriring-5.5, speaking-6.0).
Regarding my, work experience I joined .. Travels Tours and Trekking asEvent Manager from December 1st2019 to till dateto enhance my knowledge into practical. In my work place, I need to perform following task; arranging and dealing with the events, handling budgets and invoicing, and even managing risk and presenting post reports in an organization. Throughout this period, not only I developed excellent leadership skills, but also my ability to communicate ideas effectively.Basically to continue my further studies, I decided to study in the overseas to gain more knowledge in deepness in the management field. As the degree taught here in Nepal is merely focused on the theoretical education and has outdated curriculum. Thus, I want to pursue my Master’s degree in Australia.
Reason for not choosing Nepal:
I have done some research about colleges here in Nepal through different sites like https://....collegesnepal.com/programs/, https://...com/, that could contribute me to achieve my profession objective yet I found that there are no colleges offering Nepal universities, for Master of Commerce (M.Com) Applied Finance. There are various universities in Nepal namely; Tribhuwan University ...://tribhuvan-university.edu.np/, Kathmandu University(KU) (http://www.ku.edu.np/), Pokhara University (http://pu.edu.np/edu/), Purbanchal University (http://purbuniv.edu.np/), Mid-Western University, (https://........edu.np/), Far Western University, (http://....edu.np/).Here in Nepal, Master of Business Studies (MBS) is a common course. Likewise, I have also another option to choose for master’s degree Master of Finance and Control (MFC) and Master of Business Management (MBM), Master of Business Admimstration (MBA) with a duration of two years under underTribhuvan University https://..-university.edu.np/.However, I don't choose this above course since I need to seek after course that have some expertise in finance with useful learning with modern equipment. Moreover, the admission process for this program, a student must pass Central Management Admission Test (CMAT), GMAT test, etc.also, the courses offered by colleges in Nepal need varieties and assortments adding more specific course in something to be engaged in.Its bitter truth thatthe course Master of Commerce (M.Com) Applied Finance is not conducted here in my country Nepal.Nepal is a beautiful and pleasant country to live in and I love my country. I am not ready to receive the education system of my country. As it is still backward in educational development. The degree achieved in my country is valid within its boundary only. The education system of Nepal is dealing with various issues like political instability, lacks a practical approach to learning, lack of resources, implementation of policies and programs are poor. Likewise, the teaching and learning method is based on old and traditional techniques. Here, in Nepal students acquire knowledge through model papers, referring to old questions and answer https://...nepalisansar.com/education/nepal-education-system-an-overview-of-challenges-and-opportunities/. I might have the option to acquire a degree in Nepal from one of the colleges, but I will fail in gaining a universally perceived degree. I want to pursue both theoretical and practical course which contributes me to build a professional career. To be honest, I want a positive environment to study that emphases on giving excellence education with worldwide appreciation.
Hence, I choose to study in Australia rather than Nepal and I will return back to my home with my spouse and apply that knowledge, skill, confidence for the advancement of my country.I am well prepared to take on the challenges in Australia. My parents, husband and my in-laws family always have been supportive of my education and career. They have shown positive responds and happy with my decision to pursue further studies in overseas. As regards to financial sponsorship, my parents and in-laws parents will be sponsoring my education fees as well as living expenses throughout my entire study. My in-laws parents have annual income from house rent, income from business. And surprisingly my father-in-law has taken education loan only for my education in Australia.I truly feel honored to have such parents in law guardians who have consistently urged me to continue to grow and consistently support me. They, will assist me financially and emotionally until I complete my respective program at Curtin University, Australia.Consequently, there will not be any monetary issue all through my study in Australia.
About other popular study destinations:
Looking into the trends, there are different countries like Australia, USA, UK, Canada and other European countries which could be the destination of study. So I started my research comparing these countries and finally choose Australia for its globally recognized education in a secured and safe environment and lower living cost. For the USA, I have to go through entrance exams like GRE (Graduate Record Examination), GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test) to get admission which is time-consuming. Australia is safer than the USA. It has a high rate of criminal activities. Even though both countries provide world-class education, the tuition fees and living cost in USA is relatively higher ...beo.com/cost-of-living/compare_countries_result.jsp?country1=Australia&country2=United+States.
Similarly, The UK is considered one of the top destinations for education. The educational expenses and living expense is so costly in comparison to Australia. Additionally, the UK master course is under two years which implies two years course in Australia will have better acknowledgment. The normal temperature in summers is around 25°C to 15°C; in winters it is around 7°C to 0°C. ht...shiksha.com/country-comparison-uk-vs-australia-guidepage-337. In Canada, the climate is not suitable for me as during winter, it is freezing cold there and people also fall sick those who cannot tolerate the extreme cold, as the temperature during winter even drops down to minus 32◦C. This temperature is also not suitable for me as I belong to a moderate climate country htt..travel.com/climate/canada. While on the other side, in European countries language barrier could be a challenge for international students like me to adjust.
Here are some universities offering similar course in various countries which I have mention below. In USA, Salem University h...w.salemu.edu/, offers Master of Business Administration in Management with time period of 12 month with fee of USD 14,160. Similarly, in Canada, University Canada West (UCW) https://www.ucanwest.ca/, offers The Master of Business Administration (MBA) with duration of two years. And the tuition fee is $35,100 for International student. University of Alberta, HTTP..lberta.ca/, offers Master’s Degree in Business Administration with fee structure of CAD$28,281.60 per year. In US, Executive MBA (Master of Business Administration) with fee of US$12,196.00 per year is offered by Washington State University h.u/, and the duration of course is 16 month. Florida International University htt..edu/, offers Executive MBA (Master of Business Administration) with fee of US$52,000.00 each year with duration of 16 month.
Hence, I picked Australia over these nations,it offered me all that I had been searching for. It's a free from any danger country that gives first rate education at a reasonable cost.
Reason for choosing Australia:
After finalizing to study abroad, I choose to study in Australia among other top countries namely the USA, UK, Canada, and even European countries because of its cultural diversity, friendly natives, and high quality of education. I found Australia is the finest country that matches my expectation. There are plentiful reasons behind why I decided to study in Australia. It provides globally recognized degree, low expenses in living cost and a reasonable fee of the university. Australia is a secure place to live in as it offers security and opportunity and has the absolute least crime percentages on the globehttps://www.studyinaustralia.gov.au/english/live-in-australia/health-and-safety. Australian education system confirms quality education, ESOS, the Education Services for Overseas Students framework protects the rights of international students studying in Australia and enhances Australia’s reputation for quality education and training services, htt...dyinaustralia.gov.au/. The Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA), https://www.teqsa.gov.au/, protects student interests and the reputation of Australia's higher education sector through a proportionate, risk-reflective approach to quality assurance that supports diversity, innovation, and excellence. The Tuition Protection Services (TPS) https://tps.gov.au/, is one of the most unique initiatives of Australian Education System; this assures my paid tuition fees. Likewise, Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students, CRICOS, htt...cation.gov.au/, this assures the course and the provider where I am going to study meet the high expectation and standards as per the standard, quality, and recognition of international education. One more factor that assured my parents of my decision is OSHC; the compulsion of Overseas Student Health Cover helps international students to pay for any medical or hospital care that may require during my stay in Australia. Similarly, The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) allows students to easily move through the education system with an easy way for countries to recognize qualifications and issue a comparable qualification for local use. So, when I study in Australia, I have the various opportunities to pursue an outstanding education from leading institutions with expert lecturers which would be prospective for me to succeed in my career ht...dyinaustralia.gov.au/.
Hence, all these features lured me to pursue my study in Australia for master’s degree and to be up to date on modern technologies which will support me when I come back to my home country Nepal.
My research about Perth:
Perth, one of the best liveable cities of Western Australia, is widely known as the education city of Australia. Perth has one of the lowest living expenses among all Australian cities.Perth has a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters which is similar climate of my home countryNepal HTTP...erth.com.au/live-in-perth/life-in-perth/climate/. Talking about transportation system, All Central Area Transit (CAT) transports inside the Perth, Fremantle, and Joondalup zones are free for everybody. Additionally, as a global understudy, I will get a 40% markdown on all open vehicle all through Western Australia which is the best part of Perth https://www.studyperth.com.au/live-in-perth/life-in-perth/transport/. In addition, I may even decide to remain at one of Perth's most up to date committed student accommodation providers: Campus Perth, or The Boulevard, managed by The Student Housing Company. Furthermore, on campus student accommodation cost AUD 90-280 every week and homestay Price: $235 to $325AUD each we.studyperth.com.au/live-in-perth/accommodation/. Well, it is important to know about health and safety too and while doing research I found student insurance, and wellness assistance available to international students, in Perth htt.yperth.com.au/live-in-perth/safety-support/healthcare/. Perth crime rates are relatively stable and the US Bureau of Diplomatic Security classifies it as a low threat location http.crimemap.com/. Thus, Perth provides everything that student’s need like living and studying in Perth, from cost of living and working opportunities to visa and accommodation information, low crime rate that stirred me to choose Perth among other cities.
Research about Curtin University:
