The Nepal German Academic Association (NEGAAS) warmly welcomes Bimal KC! Mr. KC completed his Masters in Tropical Forestry at the Technical University of Dresden. He specializes in Tropical Forestry, and is currently serving as a Forest Officer (Level 8th) at the Division Forest Office in Morang.

Strengthening Collaboration through Dialogue

On 3 August, the Nepal German Academic Association-NEGAAS held a productive meeting with representatives of the (NGCCI) to explore opportunities for future collaboration and strengthen Nepal–Germany relations.

The meeting was attended by NGCCI Mr. and Dr. . Representing NEGAAS were President Dr. , Treasurer Dr. , and Past Secretary and Life Member Er. .

The discussion focused on fostering stronger cooperation between , , , and while creating greater opportunities for knowledge exchange, professional networking, and partnerships that benefit both Nepal and Germany.

His current affiliation is with the Land Management Training Center under the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration, Government of Nepal, where he applies his specialization in Physical Geodesy.

The Nepal German Academic Association (NEGAAS) warmly welcomes Dr. Ram Kumar Shrestha! Dr. Shrestha is a soil scientist, educator, researcher, and academic administrator with extensive experience in agricultural education, soil fertility and plant nutrition. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Soil Science at the Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science (IAAS), Lamjung Campus, Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He also served as Campus Chief of IAAS Lamjung Campus from 2081/10/02 to 2083/03/05 B.S.

Dr. Shrestha earned his PhD in Soil Science from Southwest University, Chongqing, China, in 2024 under a scholarship from the Chinese Scholarship Council. He previously completed an MSc in Agriculture Sciences and Resource Management in the Tropics and Subtropics from the University of Bonn, Germany, supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). He also holds an MA in Rural Development from Tribhuvan University.

His professional career combines academic excellence with practical development experience. Prior to joining Tribhuvan University, he worked with HELVETAS Nepal in various capacities.
Since joining IAAS Lamjung Campus in 2012, he has been actively involved in teaching, research, extension, and academic leadership. He has served as Head of the Department of Soil Science, Agricultural Engineering and Environmental Sciences, Coordinator of the Research Development Training and Extension Centre, Course In-charge of Department of Soil Science at postgraduate programs of IAAS, and member of several academic and administrative committees.

Dr. Shrestha’s research interests include soil fertility management, plant nutrition and soil health. He has served as Principle and co-investigator in several national and international research projects.
Dr. Shrestha has published numerous research articles in high-impact journals, contributed scientific and policy-oriented articles to national newspapers and magazines, and authored textbooks in the field of Soil Science. He has also supervised numerous MSc students in Soil Science and related disciplines.
