On this auspicious occasion of the 2570th Buddha Jayanti, we commemorate the Birth, Enlightenment, and Mahaparinirvana of Lord Buddha. On this holy day, let us reflect upon his core teachings:

​Suffering and Its Cause: While change and suffering are inevitable in this world, the true cause lies within our own ignorance, greed, and anger.

​Purification of the Mind: The essence of Buddha's teaching is to "abstain from all evil, cultivate supreme virtue, and tame one's own mind." We must replace violence, lies, and greed with kindness, truth, and compassion.

​Dependent Origination (Interconnection): Nothing in this universe exists in isolation; we are all profoundly interconnected. True wisdom lies in understanding this interdependence and the nature of emptiness.
​Investigation and Practice: The Buddha advised, "Do not accept my teachings out of blind faith. Instead, test and analyze them for yourselves, just as a goldsmith tests the purity of gold."

​May the light of Buddha’s compassion and peace find a home in all our hearts. On this 2570th anniversary, may his message of brotherhood and non-violence spread throughout the entire world.

We are proud to launch this new initiative at our college, designed to foster leadership, connection, and meaningful engagement within the field of psychology.

Congratulations to the first cohort of K&K Psych Ambassadors, who were recommended and selected by faculty for their potential to lead, connect, and represent the Department of Psychology with purpose.

The K&K Psych Ambassadors will:
• Build meaningful networks across junior and senior semesters
• Lead creative, student-driven psychology initiatives
• Organize and engage in weekly expert sessions, connecting students with professionals
• Represent K&K Psych across the college and beyond

The K&K Psych Ambassadors will gain:
• Hands-on leadership and team-building experience
• Direct exposure to psychologists, psychiatrists, and field experts, along with mentorship opportunities
• Opportunities to plan and lead real events and initiatives
• Recognition and a strong professional network within the psychology community

This is our founding cohort. Future ambassadors will be selected through an open application process.

Around 400 psychology students, teachers, practitioners, and police gathered yesterday (10th Sep 2024) for a powerful rally organized by the District Police, Jawalakhel, and Mental Hospital, Lagankhel to mark ***dePreventionDay. We walked together to raise awareness, break the stigma, spread hope, and remind everyone that no one should face their struggles alone. 💙

Every year, more than 800,000 people die by su***de globally. Among those aged 15 to 29, su***de is the third leading cause of death. In Nepal alone, 7,223 people took their own lives last year (2023-24)—an average of 20 people every day.

We must work together to address this alarming rate of su***de, both in Nepal and globally. If you or someone you know is struggling, the National Su***de Prevention Helpline (1166) is available for support.
