Today at our monastery, Lama Tenzin Samphel Rinpoche began teaching The Nang Jang, “Purifying Appearances,” to our Shedra monks.
Nang Jang is a collection of the most secret and profound instructions revealed to Dudjom Lingpa through a series of visionary experiences with enlightened masters. Among those who bestowed these sacred teachings are Vajradhara, Vajrayogini, Ekadzati, Shri Singha, Longchen Rabjam, Saraha, and other great wisdom beings.
These profound Dzogchen instructions guide practitioners in purifying ordinary appearances into pure perception, revealing the inseparability of appearance and emptiness, and directly recognizing the primordial nature of mind.
We rejoice that our Shedra monks have the precious opportunity to receive and study these sacred teachings. May their learning, contemplation, and meditation flourish, and may these teachings benefit countless beings.
