π’ Important update for home care workers and families
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced a pause on new applications for the Home Care Worker Immigration pilots, effective until further notice.
πΉ Demand for the pilots continues to exceed available spaces
πΉ Intake will NOT reopen in March 2026, as previously expected
πΉ IRCC will continue processing applications already submitted
πΉ The pause aims to reduce backlogs and align with sustainable immigration levels under the 2026β2028 plan
Home care workers play a vital role supporting seniors, children, and people with disabilities, and IRCC states that future updates will be shared publicly once decisions are made.
If you were planning to apply, itβs important to reassess timelines and explore alternative pathways while this pause remains in effect.
