When devastating events unfold around us, it can be difficult to name the heavy and persistent ache we carry.

Weltschmerz is a term that captures the friction between the compassionate world we wish for and the painful reality we are witnessing.

Giving language to an emotion doesn’t erase the tragedy, but it reminds us that our heartbreak is an expression of our deep capacity for empathy.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected.

We’re back with EQ Cafe! Message us to register.

We invite you to join us to chat, connect and contemplate in community on the theme of “Connection का कुरा”. We meet a lot of people, build networks, and stay connected in many ways but how many of these relationships feel truly meaningful? What does genuine connection mean to us, and what makes us feel truly seen, heard, and understood? In this EQ Cafe, we’ll explore our experiences of connection, the difference between meeting people and truly connecting with them, and what helps us build deeper and more meaningful connections.

EQ Cafe is My Emotions Matter’s community space for individuals to chat, connect and contemplate so that Emotional Intelligence can be strengthened. EQ Cafe happens once every two months focusing on different themes like developing self-understanding, improving relationships and pursuing a meaningful life and career. MEM’s hope is that such a space facilitates deeper conversations critical for developing Emotional Intelligence skills and building a community of self-aware and compassionate individuals.

The emotionally intelligent person can differentiate between needs and strategies to meet needs. This awareness helps them find solutions and create win-win instead of getting stuck in a state of powerlessness and endless power struggles in relationships.

When we interact with other people, we are constantly moving back and forth on this line. This shift is constantly happening with each words and actions we give out and receive. Emotional intelligence skills help us navigate differences in a way that leads to peace. Absence of such skills, however, can lead to disconnection and ultimately, violence.
