बिएएलएलबी पछि के ? सरकारी जागिर वा निजी प्राक्टिस ? के गर्दा ठीक हुन्छ ? यो प्रश्न मलाई दिनको एकजना विद्यार्थी वा पूर्वविद्यार्थीले सोधिरहेकै हुन्छन् । मेरो जवाफ सबैलाई एउटै हुन्छ । यदि स्थिर कमाई, अनुमानयोग्य जीवनशैली, सरकारी खर्चमा देश, विदेशको दर्शन र जागिरमा स्थायित्व खोज्ने हो भने सरकारी सेवा । होइन, व्यक्तिगत र पेशागत स्वतन्त्रता, लचिलो कमाई, खुला समाजको आनन्द, सामाजिक/राजनीतिक व्यक्तित्व र अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय एक्सपोजर खोज्ने हो भने निजी प्राक्टिस ।

तर निजी प्राक्टिस सोचेजस्तो सजिलो पहिले पनि थिएन । अहिले त झन् दिनानुदिन यो थप कठिन बन्दै गइरहेको छ । ग्रेडशीटमा जतिसुकै आकर्षक ग्रेड देखिए पनि अहिलेका अधिकांश विद्यार्थीमा फिल्ड स्किल्स पटक्कै छैन । यसमा कलेजले विद्यार्थीको र विद्यार्थीले कलेजको दोष देखाइरहेको स्थिति छ । बिएएलएलबी उत्तीर्ण अधिकांशलाई अझै पनि बिना सहारा एउटा राम्रो र शुद्ध निवेदन लेख्न आउँदैन । पाँच वर्ष पढ्दासम्म नेपालीमा टाइप गर्न आउँदैन । जबकि यो बढीमा एक महिनामा सिक्न सकिने सीप हो । यसका लागि कुनै गुरु चाहिँदैन । सामान्य अनुवाद र भाषा सम्पादन गर्न पनि धेरै छात्रछात्रालाई आउँदैन ।

उनीहरुले ५ वटा वर्ष अंग्रेजी माध्यममा पढ्छन् । तर पासआउट भएपछि ९० प्रतिशत अंग्रेजी काम लाग्दैन । सबै कानुनी कामकारवाही, मस्यौदा नेपालीमै हुन्छन् । त्यसैमा धेरैजति विद्यार्थीहरु जेलिन्छन् । युनिफर्म लगाएर कलेज धाउन्जेल नेपाली भाषा चाहिन्छ भन्ने नै लाग्दैन । तर कलेजको गेटबाट बाहिर निस्केपछि नेपालीबिना पाइलो चल्दैन ।
अहिले निजी प्राक्टिसमा तीव्र प्रतिष्पर्धा छ । यो प्रतिष्पर्धा अस्वस्थ पनि छ । जुन कामको ५० हजार लिन मिल्छ त्यसको अहिले २० हजार लिएर मान्छेले काम गरिरहेका छन् । जुन कामको २० हजार लिन मिल्छ त्यो अहिले ५ हजारमा गरिरहेका छन् मान्छेहरु । एक हजार पर्ने काम तीन सयमा भइरहेको छ । गुणस्तर कसैलाई चाहिएको छैन । सबैलाई खाँचो टरे भएको छ ।
