At 3DI Outdoor Education Camp, Gorkha is more than just a historical place on the map. It is a living classroom where students explore history, leadership, and values beyond textbooks.

“न्याय नपाए गोर्खा जानू।”

This famous saying is deeply connected with King Ram Shah of Gorkha, a ruler remembered for justice, fairness, and disciplined governance. His reign helped shape Gorkha’s identity as a place associated with law, order, and public trust.

For students, this history is not just about kings and monuments. It opens deeper questions:
What makes leadership fair?
Why does justice matter?
How does public trust shape a society?

Through our Gorkha Camp, students experience history in the place where it lives. They walk through heritage, listen to stories, observe historical spaces, and connect the past with real-life lessons.

At 3DI Outdoor Education, we believe history should be experienced, questioned, and understood.

Day 2:
The students journeyed through the heart of Solukhumbu, beginning at Phaplu Airport, the quiet gateway to the Everest region. Their first stop at the Phaplu Agricultural Farm offered a grounded look into sustainable farming practices and local livelihoods. At Thekchen Pema Chuli Gumba, the pace slowed, offering a moment of calm and connection with Buddhist culture.

By midday, they reached Salleri, where a warm lunch reflected the simplicity of local hospitality. The return toward Pattalle via Salme and the Solu River unfolded through scenic hills and open landscapes, followed by a short hike to Changesthan Temple, rich in spiritual and historical presence.

Back at camp, the evening came alive with a traditional Magar dance, where students didn’t just observe but actively took part, experiencing its rhythm and cultural significance.

Day 1:
The journey began early with a breakfast stop along the way, as the road followed the calm flow of the Sunkoshi River.
By midday, the group reached Khurkot for lunch, where the river became more than a backdrop. Students stepped into the cold water, laughed, and captured moments through photos, turning the stop into an experience rather than just a break.
They then continued deeper into the hills, where the landscape gradually opened into something more expansive.
By dusk, they reached camp and were warmly welcomed by the Magar community girls with Rhododendron mala, a gesture that marked their arrival not just as visitors, but as part of the place.

The day closed with a shared dinner, setting the tone for the experiences ahead. 🏕️
