बुढाको हातमा भएको ट्यामीको भित्रको दुध सम्झिएर गोपाल्नी भाउजुलाई भाउन्न होला जस्तो भो । दुध बिकेन एउटा समस्या। त्यसमाथि यो दुधको पानी सकिउन्जेल उमाल्दा ग्यासको नास ।

"पहिलेकै राम्रो थियो । चिया पसलमा बेचिन्थ्यो । ढुक्क थियो ।" भाउजुको पछुतो सुनियो, "गाउँमा डेरी आयो, भाउ पाइन्छ भनेर बेकारमा खुसी भइएछ । जसो भए पनि गरिबै मारमा पर्ने रैछ ।"

घरमा त्यसपछि सुनसान भो । पर गोठमा भैसी कराएको आवाज मात्रै सुनियो ।
