These are the major changes in English requirements effective from 23rd March 2024 for Student visa SC500 and Temporary Graduate Visa applications.

👉🏻English Language requirement will be increased from IELTS 5.5 to 6.0 or equivalent

👉🏻Temporary Graduate Visa (485) Changes
English Language Requirement will be increased from IELTS 6.0 to 6.5 or equivalent, with minimum 5.5 in each band

👉🏻Test validity will decrease from 3 years to 1 year

​​The Australian Federal Government has replaced the Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) requirement for student visas with a Genuine Student (GS) requirement. This is effective for student visa applications lodged on and after 23 March 2024.
