Today seminar at yak and yeti was so great and i came to know many things about USA and some of the myth were cleared by the visa officer him self.
1. Counter does not matter the officer are changed regularly.
2. SAT is just an optional thing it is not compulsory (if u want scholarship then only it is important) for the visa officer.
3. You can apply to any state you want Texas or Washington you will gate the visa any how.
4. They are there to know only if you return to your home country or not after your course are completed.
5. Don't fake any thing if they doubt you you are banned for visiting USA for your entire life.
6. They don't care about you your money your clothes your facial hair your looks and appearance. They only care is your answer.
7. Academic do matter for US visa but if u got low marks and he asked about that you must be ready with the answer why you got low grades if u can convince the vo you are good to go.
8. Same course and same answer does not matter to the vo he just want to know if u are a genuine student wiling to study in USA.
9. No memorizing the answer.
10. We get nervous they can understand you and they know English is not your 1st language and grammatical errors doesn't matter.
11. There will be no problem if you have any sibling in the USA you can get the visa.
12. Community college can also get the visa but you should say why community college.
13.Finally being polite and giving the genuine answer (it doesn't matter if you give long answer the point is the vo must believe you and your study) not lying to the vo being clear with your plan after graduation and ententation to return back to your nation is the key point of getting the USA visa. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

Anu Aryal
3 hrs ยท Kathmandu
Visa status: Approved
Date: 27th June, 2017
Counter no.: 6
Major: Bachelor in Computer Science (Transfer)
Time: 8:10
Idaho state university
My interview was for very long time, almost 10 minutes and more. And I was asked many cross questions maybe because I am a transfer student. I don't even remember many of those questions properly. But since I used to read all the visa experiences, and I know how much it helped me to get through it and to build the confidence, I am sharing my experience as much as I remember.
VO: Good morning ! *with a big smile*
Me: Good morning.. *I smiled too*
VO: Please pass me your passport.
And I passed my passport and she asked for my i20 and transcripts as well. Since I am a transfer student as I mentioned earlier, I gave her my bachelor marksheet of 2 years along with my ECE evaluation. And she stared it for like almost 2 minutes while typing and asked me if I could explain her what it was.
Me: Mam, being an international transfer student, I needed to prove the university that I am eliglible for transfers so I had to do this evaluation.
VO: Oh ok! And when you were here last time, did you have this fund provided to you by the college or you got it later ?
Me: No mam, I had already been provided scholarship earlier and I have made no changes in any documents.
VO: Alright!
And again we were silent for 1 minute almost and she asked me to give her 2 minutes and she went to other counter and came back after 2/3 minutes and with a smile on her face she asked,
VO: So Anu, why this university ?
Me: *I literally don't remember what did I answer because for sure I didn't answer what I had prepared because I forgot it all and I gave her the answers whatever came on my mind at that instance.*
VO: Great ! And why Computer science?
Me: I have always been fascinated by computers ever since I got my first computer when I was in 6th grade. The advancement in computer and technology has always enchanted me in one or the other way. At first when I didn't know about computers properly, I was just into gaming and drawing part but as I started getting deep into it and learned that there's more we can discover in this field, that's when I was introduced to programming language for the first time. *interrupted*
VO: What programming languages do you know?
Me: As I have already completed my 2 years bachelor, I have learnt C, C++, Java, php, sql *interrupted again*
VO: What have you done with sqr?
Me: Sqr ? Mam it's sql..
VO: Oh yeah, that sql *laughing*
Me: *Again, I have not done anything using sql, but I had to say something and I did but I don't remember what I said*

VO: But why do you wanna go to the US and not continue your education in XYZ university ?
Me: Actually , from the beginning I was very disappointed with the education system of the university I was in as they highly prioritise theoretical knowledge more rather practical. And being a computer field student I wanted to have practical skills more and I expected more. Also in India, being a girl I didn't feel safe enough there so I decided to continue my further studies in US university.
*She also asked cross questions related to this*
VO: That's nice.. So do you have any brother or sister?
Me: Yes, I have a sister.
VO: Elder or younger?
Me: Elder sister.
VO: Where is she and what does she do ?
Me: She is currently in US pursuing her masters in Marriage and Family therapy from University of Lousiana at Monroe.
VO: *She looked quite impressed* Hmm.. that's great.. when did she go ?
Me: She went there in last fall.. 2016.
VO: So Anu, tell me your plans after graduation.
Me: Told
VO: Impressive. So why would you not want to work in States ?
Me: Told
VO: What does your parents do ?
Me: Told
VO: How much saving do your parents have for your education?
Me: Told
VO: Do you know anybody in Idaho ?
Me: No, not yet.
VO: Okay, Anu I have signed your passport.. Go to the counter number 11 and pay 200$ and congratulation. *with smile*
Me: Thank you so much. Thank you ! :) *And I left*
Tips : So this is my experience which is very long because my interview went so long. Just don't be nervous.. I know there will be so many mixed feelings before the interview, but let the good one win over negative thoughts. Wish you good luck and don't give up even if you don't get visa at first attempt, specially when that old man of counter number 9 rejects you. Be confident enough. :)

Visa status: approved
Academics: 70โ„… in +2 science
SAT: 1290 ( 740M + 550E )
University: Norwich
Major: Computer Science
Appoinment: June 16, 8:40 am(2nd attempt)
At first I was sent to Counter No. 9 then the VO passed my documents to Counter No.6 and told me that your interview will be taken by another VO at Counter No.6.
Me: okay sir. Thank you!
Counter No.6
Me: Good morning sir! How are you?
Vo: No reply.
Vo: when were you here last time?
Me: sir, May 04, 9:50am
Vo: Ooh, That's too exact.(laughed alot)
Me: smiled
Me: Do you want this transcript(slc) too.
Vo: No, I already have your recent transcript.( VO of counter 9 had already passed him my documents)
Me: okay sir!
Vo: I see you have your SAT score reports there. If you wish then you can pass it to me now bcz I'm gonna ask you for it later.
Me: sure sir. Here you go! Sir I have taken SAT twice my highest score is 1250 and super score is 1290.
Vo: hmm(looked impressed)
Vo: It seems that you are going for Computer science, what specifically do you want to be?
Me: sir, actually I want to be a software engineer....The first computer I got was a gift from my parents. They have always wanted me to be a computer engineer and to choose the stream of computer science.( Started looking at me ) I learnt basic courses like DOS, QBASIC, also dealing with multimedia files and folders in my school. It triggered my interest to choose computer science in my highschool where I learnt making webpages using HTML tags and CSS style rules. Later I took online courses on Khan academy about drawings with code and webpage designing. I have brought the printouts of the few webpages and drawings I have made. Would you like to see it?( No reply so I continued) I think you probably know about khan academy.org .
Vo: yeah..what do you want to do after graduation?
Me: Sir, I want to promote e-tourism in Nepal. E-tourism is much needed in the country like Nepal where tourism contributes more than 85billion to its annual GDP. I want to centralize all those informations needed by tourists, travel agents, service providers and others in tourism industry on a single online platform like on a mobile application and a website so that they can have reliable and updated information about it. I want to modernise the tourism by dynamic marketing tools like search engine optimization, agressive social network marketing, previews on international travel channels and more. I have also discussed about my plan with one of the senior IT entreprneur and member of CAN (Mr. XYZ) who was very impressed with my idea. Also, he assured me that he and his company will jointly help me to achieve my goal. He also provided me information about Nepal Tourism Board. Should I elaborate?
Vo: yaa continue..
Me: Sir, he told me that there is need of effective web marketing tools. Nepal tourism board is still limited in marketing the tourism with orthodox marketing techniques like travel fairs, promotions, and limited web profile system. There is need of better controlled websites, mobile computing, cloud computing and online transaction to promote e-tourism. Also, Sir Nepal has been featured as "The best value destination to visit for 2017" by Lonely planet.(interrupted...looked very much impressed)
Vo: I am approving your visa(signed my passport)..go and pay to counter No.11.
Me: Thank you sir! Have a good day!
Vo: smiled.
........................................................................
1st attempt:
Status: rejected
Counter: 9
May4- 9:50 am
Me: Good morning sir!
Vo:Good morning! Pass me your i20 & transcript
Me: Sure here you go sir! SAT score reports too?
VO: Nope!
VO: When did you apply to this Uni?
Me: I applied to it in January prior to the priority deadline.
VO: Okay boy! Why Computer Science?
Me: well sir, During my school days, I was always curious to know โ€œHow computer works?โ€ โ€œHow a click of mouse can make things happen on the computer screen?โ€
Due to such curiosity and interest to know the mechanism of video games and programs, I chose computer science in my high school.I have done very well securing good marks in computer science and computer lab works.I took few extra classes to learn drawing shapes with code and I enjoyed using my logic, creativity and mathematical concepts there.(interrupted with smile and asked)
VO: Hmm.. What program/Software have you made?
Me: Sir, I have learnt web page designing, HTML programming and drawing & colouring shapes with code in my highschool. So I have made few web pages and completed few coding projects under supervision of my highschool teacher.
VO: (After a while) Handed me yellow paper (saying something like US visa is for the students who have clear intention to study in US)

Tips: Be bold and confident with your voice and answers, Be specific with what you have done relevant to your major in the past and what you will be doing relevant to it in the future.

Me: fine and a bit excited. What abt yours!
Vo: fine boy! So, what changes have you made this time?
Me: Sir, i have bounced back with some confidence and during my first appointment, i couldnot tell my plans after gradn properly which leads my rejection.(baal deko theeyena) After that, i went to honors college website of Texas Tech university and submitted my CV, personal essay and all scores and fortunately i got accepted. And i also got 1000$ departmental scholarship from the college of engineering.( yeti k vanya theye..solti le ta comp. Vo: That's great.๐Ÿ˜Š
Me: Thank you sir.
Vo: so, for which course are you going for!
Me:bachelor in mechanical engineering
Vo: Cool. So what incidents leads you to study ME?
Me: Actually sir, My curiosity and love towards machines and electrical appliances started when i began to have a glimpse of science.Since my earlytime, i took machine as my companion and now, I have room full of dismantled and outdated machines for my experiment. People in my society call me as 'machine maker' as i am the guy who repair their problems of some electrical appliances such as electronics light, radio, light board etc and also solve their queries. For this i took help from various video of youtube, specially by Roger willams and corey richardson who are the current graduate student at Uchicago. (Interrupted)
Vo: So, what cool things have you repaired? Me: sir, i actually i have repaired electric motors, radio, light board etc. Small small vandiye. Ani continued...With this increasing enthusiasm, when i was in grade 11, i made a retriculating water pump and exhibited it in the kathmandu university 7th science exhibition fair.so many people admired my work at that time which intensified my interest to a very higher level.Working with machines and motors has become my hobby and i certainly want to transform my passion to my profession in the future.
Vo: impressive! So have you ever applied for diversity visa?
Me: No sir, i have only applied for student. visa.
Vo: sorry, my mistake vandai hasyo...

Me: you might get surprised with the subjects i have choosed at grade 12.although i am going for engineering, do you want to know why i took biology in grade 12?
Vo: sure, i would love to hear that.
Me: actually sir, when i was in grade 11, i finished almost 70-80% of the total course and yeah, its obvious that if i have took math in grade 12,i would have got good marks without more effort but i believe in knowledge rather than marks. So i took biology and now i have knowledge of both subject although my transcripts tells me as a biological student.it separates me from the other candidates and it is my personal strength now๐Ÿ˜…(purai guff๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚)
Yeti k vanya theye, solti ta makkhai...you are genius po vanxa ta๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚.
Me: thank you sir.
Transcript heryo feri...math ma 90 thyo 11 ma and sat heryo...760 thyo ..so biswas hanyo budo le
Vo: wait wait...you told you believe in knowledge than marks but you have 81% in transcript...you are a liar vandai hasxa budo ta...ma ni k garam k garam vaio...hasde majjale๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚...aba ta interview dina aako vanni nai birseko theye ani sathi lai jastai behave garna aatye.
Vo: so what are your plans after gradn?
Me: My main goal is to open an automobile company here in Nepal under collaboration with international automobile companies like TATA motors, hyundai, suzuki but before that, I will spend some initial years after my graduation by working in the one and only automobile company of Nepal: Hulas motors. It is the company that has produced about 1000 vehicles indigenously in Nepal but for that they hired so many mechanical engineers from India because of the lack of skilled manpower in Nepal. Working in this company will also provide me hand on work experience which will be very useful while opening a company of my own.Beside it, there is also a good news for me. Do you want to hear? Pakka yes vanxa vanni tha thyo ani interrupt nagaros vanera quesn banayera continue gare..The prime minister of our country had a contract with the government of China to make a clean industrial park of Electronic and automobile manufacturing company in 500 bigas land with the budget of 300 arba rupees at chitwan, my home district.(huna chai dailekh ma ho hai๐Ÿ˜†).So after my graduation, there will be plenty of options to achieve my goals if i get a chance now๐Ÿ˜Š
Vo: nice plans re๐Ÿ˜‚
Me: thank you sir
Vo: haat ma pen thyo...sign garnai aatya thyo. So what your parents do?
Me: vandiye...dad ko pharmacy xa ani 5% share xa chitwan medical college ma vandiye..mom ko fancy xa vandiye.tes paxi sign gardai k k vanyo vanyo kei yaad xaina..mero mukh bata thank you sir.have a good day vaneko chai yyaad xa๐Ÿ˜..
