Microplastics (particles < 5 mm) are no longer just a "small" problem—they are a global environmental and health crisis. From the highest mountain peaks to the depths of our food chain, these pervasive pollutants are infiltrating every corner of our planet.

This symposium will bring together the brightest minds in research, policy, and practice to bridge the gap between scientific evidence and actionable solutions.

We recently wrapped up the 7th International Conference on Mountains in the Changing World (MoChWo)—a vibrant gathering of researchers, students, and policymakers committed to advancing mountain science and sustainability through scientific research.

From keynote talks by global experts to dynamic sessions on climate resilience, biodiversity, and transdisciplinary innovation, MoChWo 2025 was a powerful reminder of what collaboration can achieve.
