A free charity school for unprivileged Nepal Himalayan Children is almost forced to close. Without help the children will loose their education and future.

I (Rick Jansen) started this fundraising campaign because direct support is needed after Nepal's earthquakes. Buddhist monk Lama Dhundup is almost forced to close his dreamproject the Bo Gangkar Manjushree School because of financial difficulties after the earthquakes. If he closes the school the 21 children need to go back to their remote villages far away in the Himalayan mountains. They don't h

Thank you all so much for your kind support the last two years! We saved the education of the children and now they are looking forward to continue their education, to move to a new place and to build their futures. This website is the place to be to contact the school, to read about the children and to see how you can support further. Much love from Nepal!

Snow Manjushree School The Snow Manjushree School* was founded in 2014 by Buddhist monk Sonam Gyaltse Ghale (Buddhist name: Lama Dhundup). He started this organisation to give unprivileged children from the remote...

Some weeks ago I, Rick, travelled further and left Nepal. With that this project is for now less active from my side. Thanks to all your generous support there is enough funds to continue the school until september 2016! I want to express the heartfelt gratitude from me and most of all from the children and Lama Dhundup. I want to request if you feel like helping out to guarantee their future after september 2016 please contact us by a fb-message or via [email protected]

All the money raised will be transfered to Lama Dhundup on a monthly basis. There is one local NGO who supports on long term basis with needs like school customes, dental and health care, school materials, improvements of the education offered and structural advice for the future. They do not support financially though. We are still waiting for the response of another NGO we requested for financial support.

It's weekend! This morning we went to the holy temple of Swoyambunath to make a lot of fun, do a light offering to Manjushree (the god of education), prayers and a dedication for the benefit of all sentient beings. We finished the outing with a big treat: ice-cream. With great thanks to your support the kids have a happy and secure life again! We hope to receive more and more support so we can continue taking care of the kids and their future. Have a wonderful weekend!

With the winter coming there is one special need: new closed shoes for all the 20 children. Costs: 8 euro for one pair. Total: 160 euro. If you like to contribute to their warm feet go to www.youcaring.com/helpnepalhimalayankids and donate with the message: 'warm feet'.

This morning we went to congratulate meditation master Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche with his return after a 4 year retreat. Rinpoche took time to bless all the children and chatted briefly with them.

There is a big news update posted on www.youcaring.com/helpnepalhimalayankids under 'Fundraiser Updates' with news about the current financial situation, the relocation project, support of NGO's and a prayer for you!

TIME FOR A SMALL CELEBRATION
The first short term goal of 5.000 euro has been reached! A big big thank you to all generous supporters from our heart, from Lama Dhundup and the children. This weekend we will share a thank you from the kids. :) Now the education of the children has been saved for the coming half year! But ofcourse now we reached this milestone, we'd like to guarantee the education for the children on the long term. That is why we raised the goal of the fundraising to 7.500 euro, this money will be used to make the project sustainable for long term and eventually for the building of a new childrens home. In the meantime we are working on a plan to find long term sponsors for all the children. And the winter is coming: Daphne went shopping for winter clothes and her friends will bring even more fashion to keep the kids warm. Much love and gratitude from Kathmandu! ❤️

SHORT TERM GOAL ALMOST REACHED
We are coming closer to the short term goal of 5.000 euro! With this amount we can say that the education for the children has been saved at least for the coming months. Our friend Daphne (architect from Singapore) is already working on a plan to build a new children's home on the land offered by Leksheyling Monastery. Besides that we are working on a website and trying to gain support from NGO's. Now the short term worries are almost over we can focus on the long term sustainability of the Bo Gangkar Manjushree School and with that hopefully really give these children a long-term education. Go to www.youcaring.com/helpnepalhimalayankids if you want to support this project. Thank you!

SUPPORT THE FUTURE OF A HIMALAYAN CHILD

What are the chances for a child without education? What is the future of a country without well-educated youngsters?

All children have the right to receive education, to become self-supporting and independent. It is very important that the children of this age will be able to bring a positive change in the future and that they are the ones who will educate and help their families and society. Therefore a secure home-like environment and stable education is indispensable.

You can contribute towards the future of Nepals Himalayan children at www.youcaring.com/helpnepalhimalayankids

Thank you!
