Borderlands Leadership School is proud to have partnered with Lincoln School for their Grade 6 Service Nepal experience through a focused 2-day non-residential program at Hattiban.
Our role was centered on structured experiential facilitation through rock climbing 🧗♀️ and team building activities 🤝 designed to strengthen trust, communication, and early-stage confidence.
At this level, the objective is not performance—it is exposure under guided challenge. Students were intentionally placed in environments that required them to navigate fear, support peers, and develop basic but critical collaboration skills.
This kind of facilitation is not about pushing limits for its own sake. It is about creating safe, progressive discomfort where learning becomes embodied rather than theoretical.
We acknowledge Lincoln School’s broader Service Nepal framework, where students also engaged in meaningful community learning experiences with partner organizations. Our contribution sits specifically within the Hattiban experiential segment.
What matters in these early interventions is simple:
🧗♀️ Controlled challenge builds confidence
🤝 Structured teamwork builds trust
🧠 Experience-based learning builds retention
We appreciate the opportunity to contribute to a program that introduces young learners to the foundations of resilience, teamwork, and self-awareness through guided experiential education.

Borderlands Leadership School is proud to have partnered with Lincoln School for the Grade 11 Service Nepal experience—where learning moved out of the classroom and into the current of the Sunkoshi.
This was not just an adventure program. It was a live inquiry.
The essential question—“Who does the river belong to?”—is not simple, and that’s the point. Students engaged with it through direct immersion: rafting through the river system, observing its realities, and working alongside the Nepal River Conservation Trust to collect water-quality data that contributes to real environmental monitoring efforts.
That combination matters. Because awareness without data is opinion. And data without experience lacks meaning. This program forced both to coexist.
The river became more than a setting—it became a teacher of systems thinking:
🌱 Interdependence between ecosystems and communities
⚖️ Responsibility beyond ownership
🔍 Consequences of human interaction with natural resources
Add to that the physical and emotional demands of rafting, shared decision-making, and living in the wilderness—what emerged was not just understanding, but cohesion. Stronger teams. Sharper awareness. Deeper respect.
This is what effective experiential learning demands:
Real questions, not easy answers
Field engagement, not abstract discussion
Contribution to ongoing work, not isolated activity
We value Lincoln School, Nepal School’s intent to push students into complex, meaningful learning spaces—and we’re proud to facilitate journeys that challenge how young people think, act, and relate to the world around them.

Borderlands Leadership School is proud to have partnered with Lincoln School for their Grade 12 Service Nepal journey, an experience that goes far beyond a typical school trip.
What stands out is not just participation, but ownership. Students didn’t “attend” sessions—they designed and led them. Facilitating workshops on reproductive health and engineering for younger students requires clarity, courage, and responsibility. That’s real-world leadership in motion.
Equally important is the integration of service with challenge. From community engagement through creative expression (the mural) to high-adrenaline canyon rappelling and rafting, this program was intentionally structured to stretch both mindset and capability. Comfort zones were not respected—they were dismantled.
This is what experiential education should look like:
🎯 Applied learning, not theoretical recall
🤝 Contribution, not token volunteering
🧗♂️ Challenge, not comfort
🪞 Reflection, not just activity
The outcome isn’t just a “memorable trip.” It’s a shift in confidence, perspective, and team dynamics—things that stay long after the program ends.
We appreciate Lincoln School’s commitment to meaningful, trust placed in Borderlands Leadership School to facilitate this journey for more than 25 years.

🚀 Successfully Completed – Inner Compass: A Cognitive Leadership Workshop
We successfully concluded our full-day leadership intensive built around a powerful integrated approach:
Emotional Intelligence + Appreciative Inquiry + The Human Operating System
In Inner Compass, we explored leadership through multiple lenses:
• Human motivation using Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs
• Cognitive depth using Benjamin Bloom’s taxonomy
• Emotional awareness and self-regulation through Emotional Intelligence
• Positive Core discovery through Appreciative Inquiry
• The Eastern philosophical model of Human Chakras as a symbolic framework for understanding internal energy, needs, and growth
We introduced the concept of the Human Operating System —
how needs, emotions, beliefs, cognition, and purpose interact to shape leadership behavior.
It was structured with self-examination and strategic alignment.
Participants worked on:
✔ Identifying emotional triggers
✔ Understanding unmet needs
✔ Reframing limiting beliefs
✔ Designing 90-day SMART action plans aligned with their deeper purpose
Congratulations to everyone who showed up with honesty and commitment.
The next cohort of Inner Compass will be announced soon.
Seats will remain limited to maintain depth and quality.
If you’re ready to upgrade your Human Operating System and lead with clarity, direction, and emotional strength — send us a message.
