DAVSKVB Student Akshunna Rai to Represent School at Mechi Taekwondo Indo-Nepal Championships 2026

10-year-old Akshunna Rai, a student at DAV Sushil Kedia Vishwa Bharati (DAVSKVB), is representing her school at the prestigious Mechi Taekwondo Indo-Nepal Championships 2026.

The three-day international tournament, jointly organized by Mechi Taekwondo Dojang and Fit Studio, is taking place from September 23 to 25, 2026 (Ashwin 7 to 9, 2083 BS) in Birtamode, Jhapa.

Young martial artist Akshunna will be competing in both the Individual Poomsae category and the Under-10 Pair Poomsae category.

Prior to her departure for Jhapa, the Head of the Sports Department at DAVSKVB, Mr. Purnendu Ghosh, along with and faculty, extended their warmest congratulations and best wishes to Akshunna for a successful performance at the championship.

Winners of Principal's Subject Sweepstakes of English Honoured

The Senior School morning assembly on September 23 was filled with joy as the results of the Principal’s Subject Sweepstakes of English were announced. Four students—Sakchhyam Shrestha of Grade IX ‘A’, Agrim Adhikari of Grade X ‘H’, Nihal Jaiswal of Grade XI ‘D’, and Purvansh Bhatta of Grade XII ‘C’—were declared the winners, with one student selected from each grade.

The Principal’s Subject Sweepstakes in English, Science, and Mathematics is organised annually to encourage students to expand their knowledge, think beyond the classroom, and develop a love for learning. According to Activity In-charge Mr. Tanka Nath Ghimire, hundreds of Senior School students participated enthusiastically in the English Sweepstakes. Students who submitted correct answers were included in the final lucky draw, through which the winners were selected from the large number of correct entries.

Following the announcement, Mr. Ramchandra Khanal, along with Senior School Co-ordinator Mr. Tank Meghji Devji, congratulated the winners and presented them with their awards. They wished the students continued success and encouraged them to keep learning, exploring, and striving for excellence.

Grade X Well-Groomed Students Honoured with Certificates of Special Recognition

The Senior School Wing (Grades IX–XII) honoured the Well-Groomed Students of Grade X during a special morning assembly held on September 23. The recognition celebrated students who maintained neat presentation, personal discipline, and good grooming throughout the first quarter of the 2026/27 academic session, covering May, June, and July.

A total of 77 students from all nine sections of Grade X received Certificates of Special Recognition for setting a positive example among their peers. The certificates were presented by Mr. Ramchandra Khanal in the presence of Senior School Coordinator Mr. Tank Meghji Devji. They congratulated the students and wished them continued success in their academic and personal journeys.

The ceremony was smoothly moderated by Senior School Activity In-charge Mr. Tankanath Ghimire. The initiative reflected the school's commitment to nurturing discipline, confidence, good personal habits, and overall excellence alongside academic achievement.

Among the nine sections, Section D had the highest number of awardees with 15 students, followed by Section A with 13. Sections F and E had 9 and 8 recipients respectively, while Section C had 8, Section G had 7, Sections B and H had 6 each, and Section I had 5. The assembly was a proud and memorable occasion for the entire Grade X cohort.

Young Minds Explore Mathematics Through Mental Tangram Teaser

Aryabhatta Mathematics Club organised the ‘Mental Tangram Teaser’ for Grade III and IV students on 23rd September, turning their classrooms into lively spaces for mathematical exploration and fun.

The interactive activity encouraged students to arrange and visualise geometric shapes, test their spatial reasoning, and solve interesting visual puzzles. The competition helped young learners develop logical thinking while making mathematics more enjoyable and engaging.

According to Club In-charge Ms. Anjali Tamatta, the main objective of the activity was to strengthen students’ logical and spatial thinking skills and help them identify and visualise shapes through an interactive learning experience.

The Mathematics Subject Teachers evaluated the competition, assessing students on their speed, accuracy, and spatial visualisation skills. The winners will be honoured with merit certificates in due course.

Winners of the "Rising Star of the Month" Honoured

The morning assembly of Middle School on 23rd September celebrated students' achievement with "Rising Star of the Month" titles. A total of 50 students of Grade VIII across ten sections (Section A through Section J) were honoured for their dedication and performance from May through September.

Middle School Wing Co-ordinator Mr. Krishna Joshi honoured the achievers with medals and merit certificates. He congratulated each recipient for their hard work, transformation and wished them continued success in all their future academic and personal endeavors.

Inter-Section Nepali IQ Quiz Contest in Junior School

Devkota Nepali Club of Junior School organised an Inter-Section Nepali IQ Quiz Contest for Grade I to IV students in Pratik Hall on September 21.

According to Club In-charge Ms. Nirmala Devkota, the objective of the quiz was to develop students’ knowledge of Nepali language and literature and encourage reading and learning beyond the classrooms.

The quiz was conducted by Ms. Devkota, with Ms. Anuradha Tiwari serving on the board. Junior School Activity In-charge Ms. Anusha Rana and all Nepali language teachers were in attendance for the smooth conduction of the competition.

Selected students from each section of Grade I to IV enthusiastically participated in the competition. A total of 28 students in seven groups took part in the quiz, demonstrating their knowledge, quick thinking and enthusiasm for the Nepali language. The audience were Grade II and III students

As per the results, Section A secured the first position, followed by Section B in second place and Section G in third place. The winners will be honoured with Certificates of Achievement in due course.
