We celebrated World HIV/AIDS Day on December 1 by asking people to identify common myths and facts about HIV. Many doubts still exist, so we explained them clearly: mosquitoes cannot transmit HIV because the virus cannot survive or multiply inside them. Mother-to-child transmission doesn’t happen only during childbirth; it can also occur during pregnancy and breastfeeding. People living with HIV can live long and healthy lives with regular antiretroviral therapy. HIV does not spread through sharing toilets, as it cannot survive on surfaces. HIV tests today are reliable, easily accessible, and often free at many health centers. However, HIV can be passed through breastfeeding, since the virus can be present in breast milk without proper medical guidance.

Today on November 20th, our NYRCC–NC family celebrated World Children’s Day at Anmol Children Development Home, Baneshwor and it turned into one of those beautifully wholesome experiences that stay with you for a long time. We spent the day teaching the children proper handwashing techniques, personal sanitation, and hygiene, simple habits that build a healthier future. But the highlight was our creative ‘Dream Tree’, where the children wrote down their hopes, goals, and dreams. Reading their little wishes reminded us why we do what we do. Every smile, every curious question, and every dream pinned to the tree made the day truly special. Just like every visit before, this experience filled our hearts with gratitude and purpose
