In the serene beauty of Samagaun, Nubri, I had the rare and humbling fortune to witness a sacred relic—the shoe worn by the 3rd Gyalwang Karmapa when he was just three years old. Standing in its presence, I felt a quiet wave of devotion and reverence, as if time itself had softened to honor that moment.

It’s not just an object, but a living connection to profound wisdom, compassion, and an enlightened lineage that continues to inspire countless beings. Grateful for this sacred encounter and the peace it has left in my heart.

Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche was one of the most eminent scholar-practitioners in the Karma Kagyu lineage, serving as the principal tutor (Yongzin) to His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa. As the renowned Khenchen at Nalanda Institute in Rumtek Monastery, he played an essential role in reviving and establishing the traditional monastic shedra curriculum for the Karma Kagyu tradition in exile.

In heartfelt tribute to his immeasurable legacy, Thrangu Lhaksam Tsokpa—a dedicated small community of Thrangu Rinpoche’s former monks, nuns, and lay students, focused primarily on offering support to students in Nepal—warmly invites all devotees and friends of the Dharma to join the Grand Puja honoring the third anniversary of his Parinirvana, to be held at Karma Triyana Dharmachakra (KTD).
