Maghe Sankranti is celebrated on the first day of Magh according to the Nepali calendar. It’s a day spent with family, enjoying the sun and indulging in traditional foods like ghee, yams, and chaku (similar to taffy). There’s a strong belief that consuming these items ensures warmth in the body, providing nourishment throughout the winter season.

As the sun transitions into Makar Rashi, we welcome brighter days, renewed energy, and the blessings of unity.

राष्ट्रिय एकता दिवस तथा पृथ्वी जयन्तीको शुभकामना

Prithvi Jayanti, signifying “Prithvi’s birthday,” commemorates the birth of Prithvi Narayan Shah, the visionary king and unifier of Greater Nepal. His legacy reminds us of the strength found in unity and the importance of safeguarding our national identity.

On the 27th of Poush, we honor his contribution by celebrating National Unity Day (Rastriya Ekta Diwas). Let us embrace the spirit of togetherness and carry forward his vision of a strong, united Nepal.

Wishing all Nepalese people a Happy Prithvi Jayanti and National Unity Day!

The day was filled with dance, music, and games that brought joy to all participants, while a short trip to various cultural and historical sites of Bhaktapur added an enriching experience. The event fostered togetherness, strengthened community bonds, and created lasting memories for everyone involved. Parents and guardians are always an integral part of Prithwi, united as one big family.
