Saga Dawa: Month of merits:

Saga Dawa, the 4th Tibetan lunar month which runs from 17th May until 15th June 2026, is known as the month of merits, it is also called bumgyur dawa, which means “merits multiplied by a hundred thousand times”. For example practitioners’ efforts in practicing Dharma during this month, generosity, kindness and compassion accumulating virtuous merit and purifying negative karma.

The 23rd May 2026 celebrates the birth of Buddha (Tampei Düchen) and the 15th day of this lunar month, the full moon day, Wednesday, 31st May 2026 celebrates the day of Buddha’s enlightenment (Sangyé Düchen) and parinirvana (Nyangdé Düchen).
