The IRCC website indicates that study permit applications submitted by May 15 for the Fall 2021 semester will be processed by August 6. Please note that applications that are incomplete or require additional information might not be processed by August 6.

IRCC continues to prioritize study permit applications during the summer in order to ensure that students can begin their studies as planned in the fall semester. IRCC has worked to accommodate international students by introducing a variety of temporary policy changes.

Canadian Immigration and Citizenship

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all VACs across India remain closed until further notice. All passports must be submitted via the 2-way VAC courier service; however, this service is also suspended until further notice.

Please do not mail or deliver your passport to the High Commission of Canada. Passports received unsolicited will not be processed, and clients will be responsible for making their own arrangements for passport collection.

In addition to the province-wide shutdown currently in place, the Ontario government has announced a new stay-at-home order effective Thursday, April 8 at 12:01 a.m. lasting for one month.

The stay-at-home order allows post-secondary institutions to remain open and Fanshawe remains committed to ensuring all students can complete the winter 2021 semester.

Online programs are not affected. Students in blended programs will be able to attend in-person classes and labs as planned (under strict COVID-19 protocols). The winter semester will conclude as planned.
