A group of 13 enthusiastic volunteers from Bond University, Australia, recently traveled to Harmi, Gorkha, for a two-week community service program, making a meaningful impact in the local community. During their stay, they generously donated essential medicines and medical equipment to the Hami Health Post, supporting better healthcare access for villagers. They also provided educational and sports materials to Bigyan Basic School and Mahendra Lila Secondary School, helping to enrich the learning environment for students. In addition, the volunteers contributed to furnishing the Early Childhood Development (ECD) classroom, building fencing, and undertaking other community development initiatives, leaving behind lasting improvements that will benefit the children and families of Harmi for years to come.

We joined forces with the people of Jugu, Dolakha to plant 2000 trees in one day!

This remarkable effort by all involved will go towards providing a sustainable income for the local community. By planting these high-value crops we hope to help stem the rural-urban migration which is a pressing challenge to rural areas such as Jugu.

Leo, one of our interns from the UK, is currently raising funds to help this project directly. If you would like to contribute please consider donating to, and sharing the fundraiser. Any support is hugely appreciated!

The second day at RU Fest 2025 has concluded bringing to a close this fantastic event.

Many more valuable connections were made throughout the day and the panel discussions brought to life the crucial issues with profound insight and first-hand experience.

RU Fest has been particularly inspiring due to its solutions-orientated focus on the topic of tackling plastic waste and forging a green circular economy.

All of us at PSD would like to extend our thanks to the speakers, entrepreneurs, guests, and especially to all the children and young people who made the weekend so valuable and vibrant. Let's carry this momentum forward for a cleaner, greener, and more innovative Nepal!

Yesterday marked the first day of the Recycling and Upcycling Festival here in Pokhara. Thank you to all the passionate volunteers, entrepreneurs, and guests who made it such an inspiring day.

It was so positive to see how many young people were getting involved and curious about the possibilities of up-cycling as a response to the challenge of waste management and pollution.

The exhibitions on show highlight the best examples of innovative thinking around how we can turn low-value waste into useful goods, creating jobs and cleaning our environment in the process.

We look forward to engaging with more visitors today and encourage anyone in Pokhara today to come along and see what it’s all about!

We are delighted to welcome the fourth volunteer group of 2025 to join our mission for a greener planet! This inspiring team will be planting 200 fruit-bearing trees, helping us move closer to our ambitious goal of 5,000 trees this year.

With 1,647 trees already in the ground, every new planting brings us one step closer to a more sustainable and food-secure future. We're also preparing the next phase: 1,000 additional trees are ready for planting in the beautiful Ramechhap region—coming soon!

Together, we're not just planting trees—we're planting hope, resilience, and a healthier future for all. 🌳💚
Thank you for being part of this global movement!
