In an interview with The Indian Express, Prof. Sankar Ganesh Palani and Dr. Atun Roy Choudhury from BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus (BITS Environmental Science & Technology – BEST Lab) reveal a startling fact indoor air can be 2–5 times more polluted than outdoor air.
Their research team has developed India’s first Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Scale, designed specifically for Indian homes and ventilation systems, helping us better understand and improve the air we breathe every day.

The MoU between the two institutions was signed by Prof. V Ramgopal Rao, Group Vice-Chancellor, BITS Pilani, and Mr. Romain Soubeyran, Director, CentraleSupélec, in the presence of Prof. Ajit Pratap Singh, Dean, Admissions & Student Financial Aid (DASFA) (University wide) and Prof. Srikanth Mutnuri Dean, International Programmes and Collaboration Division (University wide).
The partnership will launch a 2+2 Dual Degree Programme in Science and Intelligence, combining excellence, innovation, and exposure.
The signing followed a highly productive two-day meeting between the two institutions. The delegation had a fantastic experience, expressing sincere thanks to the team, including Prof. Romain Soubeyran (Director General) and Prof. Didier Clouteau , for their exceptional hospitality at CentraleSupélec Université Paris-Saclay.

Meet Project an AI-powered crash survival system designed by Eshel Wasim and Dharsan Srinivasan to protect passengers when all else fails.
Using sensors, AI, and impact-absorbing airbags made of Kevlar and smart fluids, the system can deploy in under two seconds, slowing the aircraft and cushioning the impact. beacons, GPS, and bright signals also ensure faster rescue response.
𝐁𝐨𝐫𝐧 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐝𝐲, 𝐑𝐄𝐁𝐈𝐑𝐓𝐇 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐚𝐥𝐬:
