The B.Sc. Agriculture 5th semester students actively participated in maize seed sowing in the CRD research plots. Observations such as germination percentage, growth duration, and grain yield will be recorded and analyzed from these research plots.

We are thrilled to share that Mithila Coders, a talented student team from Janakpur Community College, have been selected as finalists at the national-level Code for Impact Hackathon, organized across all provinces of Nepal.

Out of multiple teams from each province, Mithila Coders emerged as one of the two winning teams representing their province and advanced to the valley-level finals with their innovative Agritech solution.

As part of this achievement, the team has received USD 1,000 in production support to further develop their project into a production-ready solution over the next 5–6 months, focusing on building a strong and sustainable business model, with deployment planned for July.

This accomplishment reflects the creativity, technical excellence, and problem-solving spirit of our students.

Last Friday, we visited the Mukhia Fish Breeding Farm (मुखिया मत्स्य प्रजनन फार्म), located at Nanupatti, Dhanusha. The farm, established on 2046/01/01.

The field visit to the fish farm provided practical knowledge about carp culture, including hatchery operations and broodstock management.

The farm used a 15×5 ft hatchery tank for breeding major carps such as common carp, rohu, grass carp, and bighead. Common carp brooders weighed around 1.5 kg and were matured within 4–6 months.

Brooders were kept separately and conditioned properly before breeding. Water quality was emphasized as the most important factor, as poor water leads to slow movement, change in egg color, fungal infection, and ammonia toxicity.

Feeding practices included rice bran, mustard oil cake, fish meal, and other supplements, with fry requiring around 1–2 kg of grain per day depending on stocking.

Overall, the visit helped us understand hatchery management, feeding, species rearing, and common problems such as fungal growth and ammonia accumulation.

Our students won Third Prize at Janakpur Hackathon 2.0 with their project Saathi AI Health Companion, focused on maternal and reproductive health for women.
Prize: Rs. 10,000 and 3 years of hosting services.

Their achievement reflects the innovative spirit of our students and serves as inspiration for future learners.

Today, our city comes alive as we celebrate the divine union of Mithila's beloved daughter, Goddess Sita, with Lord Ram. This isn't just history; it is the heartbeat of our Mithila culture and a testament to timeless values of duty, love, and devotion.
