𝐊𝐔-𝐈𝐂𝐈𝐇𝐒 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐥𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫

On August 20, 2026, Kathmandu University International Centre for Interdisciplinary Heritage Studies (KU-ICIHS) is currently hosting its Interdisciplinary Heritage Monthly Seminar Series at the Senate Hall, Kathmandu University, Dhulikhel.

The seminar is being held to bring together heritage conservationists, academics, and practitioners to discuss contemporary approaches to heritage conservation, management, and cultural practices.

The seminar features presentations on heritage conservation experiences in Hong Kong, historic building conservation and urban regulation in New York, the role of craft in contemporary design education, and the integration of tangible and intangible musical heritage in Nepal.

Speakers include Ms. Anna Yau, Vice-President of the Hong Kong Institute of Architectural Conservationists; Dr. Mei Kei Maggie Hui of Lingnan University, Hong Kong; Mr. Tejesh Man Shakya, Program Coordinator/Lecturer at Kathmandu University; and Prof. Dr. Lochan Rijal, Head of the KU Department of Music.

The program was opened with welcome remarks by Neel Kamal Chapagain, Director of ICIHS, while Buddha Shrestha from the Department of Architecture/ICIHS is scheduled to deliver the vote of thanks.

The seminar aims to promote interdisciplinary dialogue and knowledge sharing on heritage conservation, management, education, and the preservation of Nepal’s tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
